Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The study asked questions about river ecosystem services and their perception by local residents. The main focus was on the impact of three dams on the aquatic ecosystem.

The topic is important for the given field. With current climate change and water problems, it allows us to obtain information about the awareness of society on issues related to water protection and quality (including the multiple services provided).

Survey information shows people's awareness of certain environmental issues. Anthropogenic pressures on the aquatic ecosystem are high. This will allow for future education of local communities in this area.

Maybe the KoboKollect tool needs to be better described. What statistical tools/analyses were performed in detail. Is the sample of people sufficient for such conclusions? Provide some literature sources on analyzing surveys.

The authors' conclusions are related to the survey research conducted. They answer the question posed in the abstract and in the text.

I personally miss the discussion of results. Although it is not an easy matter, but maybe there are similar studies from other parts of the world? How do people perceive the services of aquatic ecosystems in the world? The literature is currently modest. In the Introduction chapter and in the Results/discussion there should be more references to the world literature in this area.

Tables and Figures are adequate, but I would increase the font size of the axes in Figs. 2 and 6.

Interesting article. Important from the point of view of ecosystem services provided by aquatic ecosystems (dams). The manuscript contains chapters typical of articles.

In this work I miss a discussion of my own results with the results of other scientists. How did the research turn out, for example, in Europe, Asia, America?

Citing other authors in this area is weak. I think a discussion should be added.
