Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The study is rigorously conducted. The study lacks some clear hypotheses. These can be built from the fragment from lines 135-148.

Method

Is the Social Connectedness Scale validated on a certain type of population included in the study? Is it translated by the authors of the study? Some psychometric properties could be added: consistency indices, for example.

Table 1: Just as the number of items was specified in the Social Connectedness Scale, it should also be specified in the FoodProblem variable that it is made up of a single item.

Since we are talking about international students, in what language was the survey conducted?

Well explained the role of social connection in food adaptation in the case of women.

Reviewer 2 Report

The topic covered in the paper is very interesting. The state of the art is described, although the authors could have covered the topic in more depth with respect to different cultures, particularly as a function of similarities and differences.
The method used is appropriate, well described, and replicable.
The weakness, incidentally also mentioned by the authors, consists of the sample, which is small and consists mainly of students from Southeast Asia.

Describe the problem and its context, expand the purpose of the study, approach to inquiry, the target audience and provide the rationale.

All elements such as the methods, data, findings and implications, all should be placed in their respective sections.

Provide example questions from the eight questions on feelings of connections to others in their social environment.
