Study on Anhydrous Proton Conduction in Imidazole–Collagen Composite
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The presented manuscript from the point of application is very interesting and has significant potential. The literature part is prepared correctly. It does not require major corrections and additions.
Please complete and refer to a few remarks:
1. Figure 4 which shows FT-IR spectra in imidazole(a), collagen(b), and imidazole-collagen composite(c): Better presentation of these plots should be considered. The large range of the spectrum makes it difficult to observe and analyze individual signals. Perhaps it is worth at least the most important of them to be marked on the drawing.

Reviewer 2 Report
The content of the manuscript is interesting. I think that it could be considered for publication after some revisions.
The authors mention that at around 120 C, a phase transition occurs. What kind of phase transition is occurring? Additional explanation is required.
In Fig. 7(b), a change in the behavior of delta H is observed at around 150 C. What is the origin of this change? How does the relaxation time (tau c) behave at this temperature (not shown in Fig. 7(c))?
Page 7. “The signs of gamma and alpha”. The words “The signs of” is not necessary.
Page 8, paragraph 1. The explanation is repeated. It could be written in a compact way.
Page 8. “Sign of epsilon_0 and omega”. The words “Sign of” is not necessary.
Page 8. Revise the term. “alpha dispersion” or “alpha relaxation”?
Page 8. Although I understand the reason, the term “unrelaxed permittivity” for epsilon_ inf is confusing. I recommend to describe it as “high frequency (unrelaxed) permittivity”.
Figure 8c). Add arrows to indicate the correspondence between the figures and the axis (or annex he corresponding symbols to each figure).
Fig. 9. “Imidazole” -> “imidazole”
Fig. 10. Not all the readers are familiar with organic chemistry. It is recommended to add terms such as “imidazole” and “collagen” in the figure.
References. Revise the format. Titles are given in uppercase letters, lowercase letters, roman-type and italic-type characters.
The English should be revised. For instance:
Page 1. “fuel cells attract attention” -> “fuel cell are attracting attention”
Page 1. “can operate the low-temperature” -> “can operate at the low-temperature”
Page 8. “around phase transition” -> “around the phase transition”
Page 9. “begins to construct” -> “begins to form”
… and many others (in particular, in the Abstract, Introduction, and Conclusions”.

ABSTRACT: Authors have written a good abstract by giving information on the challenges, method and important results.
INTRODUCTION:
- In figure 1: "fiber vertical direction" - does this mean perpendicular to the fiber direction? This is written in the text. Could be better to use same words in diagram as well
- References 6-10, 14, 18-23 are self-cited. Is it important to cite these articles?
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Authors have explained the methods in detail.
RESULTS: Authors used common techniques to get the results and show the significance of the novelty.
