Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This paper presents a review for research progress on FSS stealth radome as stated by the authors. The manuscript is well written and organized. However, it lacks for more recent studies on the research topic, as the latest cited work in 2021. Hence, I cannot recommend this work for publication before adding many reviews about what has been published recently on the FSS stealth radomes. This will ensure that this review is up to date with the latest developments and trends in this field.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The authors present a review on development of FSS stealth radome. Some comments are listed as follows.

  1. In section 2, the illustration on how FSS radome based on scattering mechanism reduces stealth is lacked.
  2. Actually, the concept shown in Fig. 1 may be from the book titled ‘Frequency Selective Surfaces’.
  3. In this paper, the performance of different FSSs is barely presented. Furthermore, some tables for comparison of FSS should be added.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The proposed paper presented an interesting topic about radome stealth technique based on FSS architecture, reviewed the development and figure out the future directions of it. While there are some issues needs to be addressed as below:

  1. The topic of the second part is about the FSS stealth randome based on the scattering mechanism. However, the statements mainly focus on the technqiue of FSS. The authors should develop and describe the relationship between FSS technique and the application of radome, and demonstrate by introduce more references of the radomes.
  2. The Figures in the article needs to be improved with the quality, the dpi of figures are relatively low. And it is suggested to add the performance of the FSS together with the architechiture, in order to show the feature of FSS in a clearer way.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper is reviewing the FSS structures and their application in stealth Radome.

There are some changes which are required before publication.

The start point of references are from [10-12] (Line 65). I did not see the references regarding [1-10].

In general the referencing is not organized and it needs to be in successive way. Some of them are missing in the text.

Figure 1 is totally unclear and it is not possible to understand what it shows. Please explain the figure in detail.

Please add more references and detailed explanations including figures to Section 4: "Future development of FSS stealth Radome".
