Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

It is an excellent qualitative study that not only interrogates the role of church leadership in incorporating women and children into peacebuilding programs, but also addresses the disproportionate impact of political violence on women and children. The study further proposes, in a very practical way, a transformative and gender-sensitive approach to church-led peace interventions.

The intersection of African feminist theology and the Theory of Religious Peacebuilding as the theoretical framework provides important lenses for addressing the gendered approach to the role of churches and religion in political violence.

There is no consistency between the in-text references and the reference list at the end of the chapter. Many authors are missing, including Mude, Bengesai and Chikhungu, Fricker, Manyonganise, and Mapuranga. (Need to correct).
