It is good to present the defined parameters related to the computer simulation. Following the performance of computer simulations, it is desirable to apply results with mathematical values, given that CAE is used. This will give greater accuracy to the overall study. The overall vision of the report is valuable given the clarity of the development. The goal clearly seems to have been achieved.

 

I would like to confirm that I personally like the report. Despite the scarce information, I note that the report is very clearly structured. Since the main text states that CAE is applied, I believe that the attached graphs with results need (if possible by the authors) to be applied in detail: parameters of computer research: number of nodes and elements of three-dimensional geometry; quality of the digital mesh, respectively and etc. In addition to presenting the quality of the mesh, it is good to present graphically and numerically the weakest points of the material, due to the applied computer simulation. Adding this information will improve the scientific appearance of the report.

  1. The new spanner is designed using computer-aided engineering (CAE) and the Taguchi method. In the design process, the ?9 orthogonal table was used for parameter design. In order to understand the results by the reader, the concerned design experiment and numerical analysis are shown on page 2, line 50 to page 4, line 84 of the revised manuscript.

I think that the authors can do a lot better. There is almost nothing to judge as a reviewer. Just an idea, an image and that's it. There is no comparison with the currently applied solution in any form. Are there any benefits? How are they supported? Why is your proposed solution better?

  1. In fact, conventional F-type spanner is often used in traditional oil refinery stop valve. Because it cannot be fully engaged and slipped during operation, which may hit the operator's body and cause injury in the operation site. In the section 1.Introduction, the authors give force analysis of F-type spanner are shown on from page 1, line 21 to line 29 of the revised manuscript. In order to improve the problem, we give the design concept for a new spanner. The advantages of the new spanner can be shown on from page 2, line 45 to line 48 of the revised manuscript. Also, the design process can be shown on the section 3. Design experiment. of the revised manuscript.
