Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The comments and suggestions are included in the attached file.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer, thank you very much for your comments. I welcomed most of the notes and changed the manuscript accordingly. The changes are highlighted in green.

Some of the remarks, however, are related to editorial issues and were not present to my original manuscript as, for instance, the spacing between tables and text and the scaling of the figures with respect the page size and the text width itself.

As far as the equations is concerned I agree with you, but this is the limitation associated with the Word Equation Editor that I used for the manuscript compilation. I hope that the new editing from the Journal would solve the problem.

Also the remark about eq. (11), that I corrected in the revised manuscript, was related to the Equation Editor, I correctly typed “v”, but in Courier format it looks like the Greek letter “nu”.

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper entitled “Hybrid (Oscillator-Amplifier) Free Electron Laser and new proposals” by Andrea Doria proposes a hybrid Free Electron Laser (FEL) scheme based on simulations. The paper is generally well-written, and could be of interest to the wider scientific community mainly due to the applications of FEL. A few minor corrections can be made to improve the paper, as follows:

1. In page 8 and page 9, some symbols are missing in the equations. Please check it.

2. Equations 11, 12 and the equation in the Conclusion also has some missing variables.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer, thank you very much for your comments.

I deeply analysed pages 8 and 9 looking for symbols missing in the equations and I also examined equations (11) and (12) looking for errors or missing parts. Everything seemed fine to me. I guess that problems could have been caused by some compliance issues of the doc and pdf files. I personally realised that all the equations in the downloadable pdf version of the manuscript are not readable.

I submit the revised version of the work in Word docx format and in pdf.
