Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript includes the characterization of the magnetic materials to see the material microstructure boy some equipments. The analysis is well done and written well, but the some points should be improved.

1) micro domain of hard and soft domain should be illustrated as a images. all the information from the analysis are better to be included to the illustration.

2) 10% of cobalt is interesting behavior in Figures 4 and 5. Explain more.

3) Mechanical strength of the materials is directly related to the molecules structure? If not, please add some comments.

4) in Figure 8 add the scale bar, please.

Author Response

Dear Editor,

Please find a detailed response letter regarding our manuscript entitled “Structural, Magnetic, and Mechanical Properties of Nd16(Fe76-xCox)B8 0 ≤ x ≤ 25 alloys”, (applsci-893374 by Juan Sebastián Trujillo Hernández * , Ahmed Talaat , Jesus Tabares , Dagoberto Oyola Lozano , Humberto Bustos Rodriguez , German Pérez Alcázar , Hugo Martinez Sanchez)

Response to the reviewers

First of all, we would like to thank the reviewers for their detailed and thorough comments. We have attempted to reply to all the questions arisen and made the corresponding corrections where appropriate. We include new references, we improved the introduction, the description of the experimental method, and we tried to improve the English of the manuscript. We believe that with these adjustments, the article is substantially improved and suitable for publication in this journal.

1. micro domain of hard and soft domain should be illustrated as a images. all the information from the analysis are better to be included to the illustration.

Our response:

Thanks for helpful comment. We agree with the reviewer that micro domains are indeed key characteristic in analyzing magnetic properties of exchange-coupled magnets. Unfortunately, at this point we do not have the facility to characterize the domain structure. However, we have included a short sentence in the revised manuscript highlighting the importance of studying the domain structure and magnetization process in exchange coupled magnets. This is highlighted in yellow for the convenience of the reviewer.

2. 10% of cobalt is interesting behavior in Figures 4 and 5. Explain more.

Our response:

We appreciate the helpful suggestions. We included some comments about how the composition of 10% cobalt in figure 4 and 5, presents an interesting magnetic behavior due to the first neighbors of Fe atoms. The comments are highlighted in yellow in the revised manuscript.

3. Mechanical strength of the materials is directly related to the molecules structure? If not, please add some comments.

Our response:

Thanks for the comment. We included some comments about how the mechanical properties are influenced by the microstructure and we added a new reference. The comments are highlighted in yellow.

4. in Figure 8 add the scale bar, please.

Our response:

We included the scale bar in figure 8.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Authors,

The manuscript entitled "Structural, Magnetic, and Mechanical Properties of Nd16(Fe76-xCox)B8 0 ≤ x ≤ 25 alloys". The paper is well structured, contains interesting material properties of cobalt infused neodymium magnets and the conclusions seem to be correct.

However, I have some suggestions to improve your manuscript.

  1. In order to improve readability the manuscript requires careful and thorough spelling and grammatical check.
  2. In line 159, 160, 176, the "Nd2Fe14B" is incorrectly formatted.
  3. Make sure that the manuscript follows the guidelines for authors. Literature needs to be changed according to guidelines, for example: Journal Articles: Author 1, A.B .; Author 2, C.D. Title of the article. Abbreviated Journal Name Year, Volume, page range.

Best regards
