Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThe paper combines the TSX and S-1 datasets, utilizing the high spatial resolution of TSX and the wide coverage of S-1 to enhance monitoring capabilities. Simultaneously evaluated the advantages of spatial and temporal encrypted PS time series obtained from TSX and S-1 data in monitoring dam deformation. Secondly, using a combination of time series to identify the driving factors of deformation, such as water level and temperature data. The results of the paper are of great significance for monitoring and analyzing dam deformation, and some issues need further improvement.
- In the introduction section, the summary of existing research work needs to be improved.
- In the methodology section, it needs to be explained in detail how to match the temporal deformations of TSX and S1 through linear regression analysis.
- In the results section, it is recommended to provide monitoring results for TSX and S1.
- In the results, TSX only selected 19 PS points, while S1 selected 9. The number of PS points is few. How to ensure the reliability of the monitoring results?

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsIn this paper, PSInSAR is used to interpret the deformation of the dam from the Combined X-and C-Band SAR datasets. The results of the two interpretation data are fused, after that, based on the deformation driving factors such as temperature and water level, specific analyses are conducted for different positions of the dam. The method proposed in this paper has certain practical application, but there are the following shortcomings, and the following modifications are recommended.
- The theoretical basis of the PSInSARemployed should be supplemented.
- Two types of SAR dataare used in this paper, while the spatial resolutions of these two are different. How did the author consider this when analyzing the data and results? This should be supplemented and explained.
- The weight is applied to the two data fusions in the paper, it is necessary to supplement how the weight is calculated.
- The two figures on the left and right of Figure 6 need to be numbered. In the left figure of Figure 6, among the three monitoringresults, calculated using TerraSAR-X data, are mostly positive values, calculated using Pendulum Data are around the 0 value, calculated using Sentinel-1 data are mostly negative. The results of the three calculations are completely different, so it is necessary to consider whether there is an error in the data calculation. Linear operations are performed on the three sets of data, and the resulting values ranged from -5mm to 3mm. There are significant differences in the final results obtained using the three techniques at the same location and during the same period. The author needs to provide an explanation for this.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsDear Editor, Dear Authors,
I revised the manuscript “Identifying Deformation Drivers in Dam Segments Using Combined X- and C-Band PS Time Series”. Authors deal with the analysis of short- and long-term deformations of dams by combining Sentinel-1, TerraSAR-X, and in situ data including water level and temperature as exogenous variables. The work is clear, well written, and well-structured making the manuscript easy to follow. Methods are accurately described, results are well presented and discussed, including a paragraph on the limitations of the proposed methodology that I particularly appreciated and that strengthens the reliability of the method. The topic of the work is certainly relevant for Remote Sensing; therefore I recommend accepting the manuscript for publication after Minor Revision. I just found some minor issue that I included in the attached pdf file.
Sincerely,
Evandro Balbi
