Sustainable Fashion in Poland—Too Early or Too Late?
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The aim of the study was to identify the approach of Polish clothing consumers to sustainable development in fashion. The final conclusions presented in the text deserve special attention. I recommend the article to be published after linguistic proofreading.

The paper is interesting and has a some publication potential, but it must be restructured and much more references from the last 2-4 years must be added. The research methodology and the results section must be further and more consistent improved.
please extend the number of key words
please include also a short argument regarding how the paper adds value to existing literature
Figure 1 ... it is your own elaboration...but based on which references?
I think that more literature from the region could be added to the lit review.
I would call it 3. Research methodology
The hypothesis "The main hypothesis for this research was: Polish consumers are not sensitive to sustain-163 able development in the clothing industry. The survey was anonymous and was made using 164 the surveymonkey.com" should be actually deduced from the literature, which means that you need to cite some references and bring some arguments before showing this hypothesis.
It is not very clear how the research instrument was operationalised, i.e. what scales have been employed and which were the items of each scale. See for instance this papers:
https://www.mdpi.com/2071-1050/13/15/8572/htm
"ial attractiveness was measured on a four-scale item validated in previous research on social shopping context [10]. Both physical attractiveness and PSI variables were adapted using a four-item scale validated in previous research into YouTube influencers [45]. Value perceptions including social value variable, personal value variable and conspicuous value variable were developed using a four-item scale validated into luxury product context from previous research [44], and purchase intention was measured on a four-item scale adapted from [45]."
or
see how the authors of this paper deduce their hypothesis and afterwards operationalize the questionnaire: https://www.mdpi.com/2071-1050/11/17/4532
You need to give some more arguments why you chose to conduct the research only in Poland and why Poland is so relevant and can be considered an international benchmark
Your pies are very attractive, but tables would be more appropriate as it is a scientific paper and not a commercial reporting.
The results are presented in a very, very simple mode. I would have expected more relevant analysis. What about the hypothesis? What econometric calculations do you perform to validate it?
Discussions should be enhanced with more comparisons between your findings and previous results from the literature, also from the region. By doing that you also point out the novelty of your research. There should be different papers cited in the discussions section.
Conclusions should be improved. You need to have here 4 paragraphs:
theoretical implications; managerial implications; limitations; future research perspectives.
For such a study references are too few and too old. You need to extend the reference section and make a more proficient discussion of your paper and your results.

Thank you for all your remarks and suggestions. We tried to improve this paper accordingly. Some recent references have been included in the literature review, including more Polish background. We provided also some rationales for selecting Poland as an interesting field for exploration in the discussed matter and the arguments justifying the choice of the topic, as well as the value added of our paper.
The methodology part has been improved and the presentation of results completely reformulated, as well as the discussion part. We added also some statements in the conclusions part for emphasizing the managerial implications, limitations and further research perspectives.

Dear authors,
the title of this work is very nice. Wonderful!!!
Abstract is well constructed.
WIthin section 1 you must remember that fashion industry is one of main responsible of pollution
Literature can be improved, I suggest some works published in our journal:
https://doi.org/10.3390/su13041861, https://doi.org/10.3390/su12072809 and in other journals https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jclepro.2021.126245
In another part you speak of female presence in this sector: https://doi.org/10.3390/su13158129
Generally section 2 shows interesting data
Section 3 has a big absent. What is the methodology that you have used? What is the comparison with literature?
All section 4 (in the text you reports results as section 3) is well described. I have no comments.
Section 5 (discussions) must be enhanced. What is the value added than existing literature? what are the main indications? there is space to sustainable fashion? what is the opinion of business? of consumers? What is the role of policy?
Last section is ok.
