Australasian Cities at the Crossroads: Navigating Legacy, Innovation & Sustainability
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Topic brings together selected full papers from the State of Australian Cities (SOAC) Conference 2025, held in Brisbane. SOAC is Australia’s leading urban research conference, addressing critical challenges in planning, sustainability, housing, transport, and governance.
Under the theme Australasian Cities at the Crossroads: Navigating Legacy, Innovation & Sustainability, this collection will showcase extended versions of high-quality conference papers and additional contributions aligned with SOAC themes, including urban futures, spatial planning, green infrastructure, smart cities, and socio-economic resilience. By publishing across multiple MDPI journals, this Topic aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and advance research on sustainable urban development in Australia and globally.
We invite researchers to submit comprehensive reviews, empirical studies, and conceptual papers that contribute to shaping resilient, inclusive, and sustainable cities.
