Pipelines, as critical infrastructure in energy transmission, municipal facilities, industrial production, and specialized equipment, are essential to national economic security and social stability. This paper systematically reviews the domestic and international research status of pipeline in-line inspection (ILI) technologies, with a focus on four major technological systems: electromagnetic, acoustic, optical, and robotic technologies. The operational principles, application scenarios, advantages, and limitations of each technology are analyzed in detail. Although existing technologies have achieved significant progress in defect detection accuracy and environmental adaptability, they still face challenges including insufficient adaptability to complex environments, the inherent trade-off between detection accuracy and efficiency, and high equipment costs. Future research directions are identified as follows: intelligent algorithm optimization for multi-physics collaborative detection, miniaturized and integrated design of inspection devices, and scenario-specific development for specialized environments. Through technological innovation and multidisciplinary integration, pipeline ILI technologies are expected to progressively realize efficient, precise, and low-cost lifecycle safety monitoring of pipelines. As the automotive industry continues to evolve rapidly, there is a growing demand for high-throughput reliable communication systems within vehicles. This paper presents the implementation and verification of a fault-tolerant Ethernet-based communication protocol tailored for automotive applications operating at 1 Gbps and above. The proposed system introduces a multi-port Network Interface Controller (NIC) architecture that supports real-time communication and robust fault handling. To ensure adaptability across various in-vehicle network (IVN) scenarios, the system allows for configurable packet sizes and transmission rates and supports diverse data formats. The architecture integrates cyclic redundancy check (CRC)-based error detection, real-time recovery mechanisms, and file-driven data injection techniques. Functional validation is performed using Verilog HDL simulations, demonstrating deterministic timing behavior, modular scalability, and resilience under fault injection. This paper presents a fault-tolerant Network Interface Controller (NIC), architecture incorporating CRC-based error detection, real-time recovery logic, and file-driven data injection. The system is verified through Verilog HDL simulation, demonstrating correct timing behavior, modular scalability, and robustness against injected transmission faults. Compared to conventional dual-port NICs, the proposed quad-port architecture demonstrates superior scalability and error tolerance under injected fault conditions. Experimental results confirm that the proposed NIC architecture achieves stable multi-port communication under embedded automotive environments. This study further introduces a novel quad-port NIC with an integrated fault injection algorithm and evaluates its performance in terms of error tolerance. Full article

Anthracnose, a significant disease of aloe with characteristics of contact transmission, poses a considerable threat to the economic viability of aloe cultivation. To address the challenges of accurately detecting and classifying crop diseases in complex environments, this study proposes an enhanced algorithm, YOLOv11-seg-DEDB, based on the improved YOLOv11-seg model. This approach integrates multi-scale feature enhancement and a dynamic attention mechanism, aiming to achieve precise segmentation of aloe anthracnose lesions and effective disease level discrimination in complex scenarios. Specifically, a novel Disease Enhance attention mechanism is introduced, combining spatial attention and max pooling to improve the accuracy of lesion segmentation. Additionally, the DCNv2 is incorporated into the network neck to enhance the model’s ability to extract multi-scale features from targets in challenging environments. Furthermore, the Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network structure, which includes an additional p2 detection head, replaces the original PANet network. A more lightweight detection head structure is designed, utilizing grouped convolutions and structural simplifications to reduce both the parameter count and computational load, thereby enhancing the model’s inference capability, particularly for small lesions. Experiments were conducted using a self-collected dataset of aloe anthracnose infected leaves. The results demonstrate that, compared to the original model, the improved YOLOv11-seg-DEDB model improves segmentation accuracy and mAP@50 for infected lesions by 5.3% and 3.4%, respectively. Moreover, the model size is reduced from 6.0 MB to 4.6 MB, and the number of parameters is decreased by 27.9%. YOLOv11-seg-DEDB outperforms other mainstream segmentation models, providing a more accurate solution for aloe disease segmentation and grading, thereby offering farmers and professionals more reliable disease detection outcomes. In this study, we investigate the return propagation mechanism, hedging effectiveness, and portfolio performance across several common agricultural commodities, crude oil, and S&P 500 index, ranging from July 2000 to June 2024 by using a time-varying parameter vector autoregression (TVP-VAR) connectedness approach and three common multiple assets portfolio optimization strategies. The empirical results show that, the total connectedness peaked during the 2008 global financial crisis, followed by the European debt crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, while it remained relatively lower at the onset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In the transmission mechanism, commodities and S&P 500 index exhibit distinct and dynamic characteristics as transmitters or receivers. Portfolio analysis reveals that, with exception of the COVID-19 pandemic, all three dynamic portfolios outperform the S&P 500 benchmark across major global crises. Additionally, the minimum correlation and minimum connectedness strategies are superior than transitional minimum variance method in most scenarios. Our findings have implications for policymakers in preventing systemic risk, for investors in managing portfolio risk, and for farmers and agribusiness enterprises in enhancing economic benefits. In multi-user wireless communication scenarios, signal degradation caused by channel fading and co-channel interference restricts system capacity, while traditional enhancement schemes face challenges of high coordination complexity and hardware integration. This paper proposes an electromagnetic focusing method using a single-layer transmissive passive metasurface. A high-efficiency metasurface array is fabricated based on PCB technology, which utilizes subwavelength units for wide-range phase modulation to construct a multi-user energy convergence model in the WiFi band. By optimizing phase gradients through the geometric phase principle, the metasurface achieves collaborative wavefront manipulation for multiple target regions with high transmission efficiency, reducing system complexity compared to traditional multi-layer structures. Measurements in a microwave anechoic chamber and tests in an office environment demonstrate that the metasurface can simultaneously create signal enhancement zones for multiple users, featuring stable focusing capability and environmental adaptability. This lightweight design facilitates deployment in dense networks, providing an effective solution for signal optimization in indoor distributed systems and IoT communications. Full article

The penetration rate of variable energy sources in the current power grid is increasing, with the aim being to expand the use of these energy sources and to replace the traditional black start power supply. This study investigates the black start of a photovoltaic storage joint system based on the system’s short-circuit ratio threshold. Firstly, the principles and control modes of the photovoltaic (PV) system, energy storage system (ESS), and high-voltage direct current (DC) transmission system are studied separately to build an overall model; secondly, computational determinations of the short-circuit ratio under different scenarios are introduced to analyze the strength of the system, and the virtual inertia and virtual damping of the PV system are configured based on this; finally, the change trend of the storage system’s state of charge (SOC) is computed and observed, and the limits of what the system can support in each stage are determined. An electromagnetic transient simulation model of a black start system is constructed in PSCAD/EMTDC, and according to the proposed recovery strategy, the system frequency is maintained in the range of 49.4~50.6 Hz during the entire black start process; the fluctuation in maximum frequency after the recovery of the DC transmission system is no more than 0.1%; and the fluctuation in photovoltaic power at each stage is less than 3%. In addition, all the key indexes meet the requirements for black start technology, which verifies the validity of the strategy and provides theoretical support and a practical reference for the black start of a grid with variable energy sources. Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and cause-related marketing has reshaped corporate social responsibility practices while triggering a conflict between technological instrumental rationality and moral value transmission. Building on the Persuasion Knowledge Model (PKM) and AI aversion literature, this research employs two experiments to reveal that AI disclosure exerts a unique inhibitory effect on consumers’ purchase intentions in cause-related marketing contexts compared to non-cause-related marketing scenarios. Further analysis uncovers a chain mediation pathway through consumer skepticism and advertisement attitudes, explaining the psychological mechanism underlying AI disclosure’s impact on purchase intentions. The study also identifies the moderating role of AI aversion within this chain model. The findings provide a new theoretical perspective for integrating AI disclosure, consumer psychological responses, and marketing effectiveness while exposing the “value-instrumentality” conflict inherent in AI applications for cause-related marketing. This research advances the evolution of the PKM in the digital era and offers practical insights for cause-related marketing enterprises to balance AI technology application with optimized disclosure strategies. Opportunistic Networks (OppNets) lack the capability to maintain consistent end-to-end paths between source and destination nodes, unlike Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs). This absence of stable routing presents substantial challenges for data transmission in OppNets. Due to node mobility, routing paths are inherently dynamic, requiring the selection of neighboring nodes as intermediate hops to forward data toward the destination. However, frequent node movement can cause considerable delays for senders attempting to identify appropriate next hops, consequently degrading the quality of service (QoS) in OppNets. To mitigate this challenge, this paper proposes an alternative approach for scenarios where senders cannot locate suitable next hops. Specifically, we propose utilizing direct communication via line of sight (LoS) between sender and receiver nodes to satisfy QoS requirements. The proposed scheme is experimented with using the ONE simulator, which is widely used for OppNet experiments and study, and compared against existing schemes such as the history-based routing protocol (HBRP) and AEProphet routing protocol. Satellite communications are pivotal to global Internet access, connectivity, and the advancement of information warfare. Despite these importance, the open nature of satellite channels makes them vulnerable to eavesdropping, making the enhancement of interception resistance in satellite communications a critical issue in both academic and industrial circles. Within the realm of satellite communications, polarization modulation and quadrature techniques are essential for information transmission and interference suppression. To boost electromagnetic countermeasures in complex battlefield scenarios, this paper integrates multi-parameter weighted-type fractional Fourier transform (MP-WFRFT) with directional modulation (DM) algorithms, building upon polarization techniques. Initially, the operational mechanisms of the polarization-amplitude-phase modulation (PAPM), MP-WFRFT, and DM algorithms are elucidated. Secondly, it introduces a novel variable polarization-amplitude-phase modulation (VPAPM) scheme that integrates variable polarization with amplitude-phase modulation. Subsequently, leveraging the VPAPM modulation scheme, an exploration of the anti-interception capabilities of MP-WFRFT through parameter adjustment is presented. Rooted in an in-depth analysis of simulation data, the anti-scanning capabilities of MP-WFRFT are assessed in terms of scale vectors in the horizontal and vertical direction. Finally, exploiting the potential of the robust anti-scanning capabilities of MP-WFRFT and the directional property of antenna arrays in DM, the paper proposes a secure transmission technique employing directional variable polarization modulation with MP-WFRFT. The performance simulation analysis demonstrates that the integration of MP-WFRFT and DM significantly outperforms individual secure transmission methods, improving anti-interception performance by at least an order of magnitude at signal-to-noise ratios above 10 dB. Consequently, this approach exhibits considerable potential and engineering significance for its application within satellite communication systems. Full article

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are widely used in surveillance and combat for their efficiency and autonomy, whilst complex, dynamic environments challenge the modeling of inter-agent relations and information transmission. This research proposes a novel UAV tactical choice-making algorithm utilizing graph neural networks to tackle these challenges. The proposed algorithm employs a graph neural network to process the observed state information, the convolved output of which is then fed into a reconstructed critic network incorporating a Laplacian convolution kernel. This research first enhances the accuracy of obtaining unstable state information in hostile environments. The proposed algorithm uses this information to train a more precise critic network. In turn, this improved critic network guides the actor network to make decisions that better meet the needs of the battlefield. Coupled with a policy transfer mechanism, this architecture significantly enhances the decision-making efficiency and environmental adaptability within the multi-agent system. Results from the experiments show that the average effectiveness of the proposed algorithm across the six planned scenarios is 97.4%, surpassing the baseline by 23.4%. In addition, the integration of transfer learning makes the network convergence speed three times faster than that of the baseline algorithm. This algorithm effectively improves the information transmission efficiency between the environment and the UAV and provides strong support for UAV formation combat. Full article

Earthquakes can severely disrupt power distribution networks, causing extensive outages and disconnection from the transmission grid. This paper proposes a two-stage restoration method tailored for post-earthquake distribution systems. First, earthquake-induced damage is modeled using ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs) and fragility curves, and degraded network topologies are generated by Monte Carlo simulation. Then, a time-domain generator start-up model is developed as a mixed-integer linear program (MILP), incorporating cranking power and radial topology constraints. Further, a prioritized load recovery model is formulated as a mixed-integer second-order cone program (MISOCP), integrating power flow, voltage, and current constraints. Finally, case studies demonstrate the effectiveness and general applicability of the proposed method, confirming its capability to support resilient and adaptive distribution network restoration under various earthquake scenarios. Multiband transmission is, nowadays, being implemented worldwide to increase the optical transport network capacity, mainly because it uses the already-installed single-mode fiber (SMF). The G.654E SMF, due to its attributes (e.g., low-loss, and large-effective area in comparison with the standard G.652 SMF), can also increase network capacity and can also be used for multiband (MB) transmission. Nevertheless, in MB transmission, power mode coupling arises when bands with wavelengths below the cut-off wavelength are used, inducing multipath interference (MPI). This work investigates the impact of the MPI, due to mode coupling from G.654E SMF, in the transmission reach of a C+L+S band transmission system. Our results indicate that for the S-band scenario, the band below the wavelength cut-off, an approximately 25% reach decrease is observed when the MPI/span increases to −26 dB/span, considering quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) signals with a 64 GBaud symbol rate. We also concluded that if the L-band were not above the wavelength cut-off, it would be much more affected than the S-band, with an approximately 52% reach decrease due to MPI impact. Full article

Background/Objectives: Effective teamwork is crucial for minimizing human error in healthcare settings. Medical teams, typically composed of physicians and nurses, supported by auxiliary professionals, achieve better outcomes when they possess strong collaborative competencies. High-quality teamwork is associated with fewer adverse events and complications and lower mortality rates. Based on this background, the objective of this study is to analyze the perception of non-technical skills and immediate learning outcomes in interprofessional simulation settings based on E-CRM items. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted involving participants from the official postgraduate Medicine and Nursing programs at the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) during the 2024–2025 academic year. Four interprofessional E-CRM simulation sessions were planned, involving randomly assigned groups with proportional representation of medical and nursing students. Teams worked consistently throughout the training and participated in clinical scenarios observed via video transmission by their peers. Post-scenario debriefings followed INACSL guidelines and employed the PEARLS method. Results: Findings indicate that 48.3% of participants had no difficulty identifying the team leader, while 51.7% reported minor difficulty. Role assignment posed moderate-to-high difficulty for 24.1% of respondents. Communication, situation awareness, and early help-seeking were generally managed with ease, though mobilizing resources remained a challenge for 27.5% of participants. Conclusions: This study supports the value of interprofessional education in developing essential competencies for handling urgent, emergency, and high-complexity clinical situations. Strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration contributes to safer, more effective patient care. Full article

In some areas, such as Gansu in China and Texas in the USA, lots of wind power bases are located far away from load centers. Transmitting large amounts of wind power to load centers through long transmission lines will lead to wind turbines being integrated into a weak grid, which decreases the stability limits of wind turbines. To solve this problem, this study investigates the stability limits of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) connected to a weak grid in a DC-link voltage control timescale. To start with, a model of the DFIG in a DC-link voltage control timescale is presented for stability limit analysis, which facilitates profound physical understanding. Through steady-state stability analysis based on sensitivity evaluation, it is found that the critical factor restricting the stability limit of the DFIG connected to a weak grid is ∂Pe/∂ (−ird), changing from positive to negative. As ∂Pe/∂ (−ird) reaches zero, the system reaches its stability limit. Furthermore, by considering control loop dynamics and grid strength, the stability limit of the DFIG is investigated based on eigenvalue analysis with multiple physical scenarios. The results of root locus analysis show that, when the DFIG is connected to an extremely weak grid, reducing the bandwidth of the PLL or increasing the bandwidth of the AVC with equal damping can increase the stability limit. The aforesaid theoretical analysis is verified through both time domain simulation and physical experiments. Full article

In industrial wireless networks beyond 5G and toward 6G, combining uplink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) with the Kalman filter (KF) effectively reduces interruption risks and transmission delays in remote state estimation. However, the complexity of wireless environments and concurrent multi-sensor transmissions introduce significant interference and latency, impairing the KF’s ability to continuously obtain reliable observations. Meanwhile, existing remote state estimation systems typically rely on oversimplified wireless communication models, unable to adequately handle the dynamics and interference in realistic network scenarios. To address these limitations, this paper formulates a novel dynamic wireless resource allocation problem as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model. By jointly optimizing sensor grouping and power allocation—considering sensor available power and outage probability constraints—the proposed scheme minimizes both estimation outage and transmission delay. Simulation results demonstrate that, compared to conventional approaches, our method significantly improves transmission reliability and KF estimation performance, thus providing robust technical support for remote state estimation in next-generation industrial wireless networks.
