Sierra Leone possesses distinct educational, economic, and social characteristics. Public universities in the country, funded by the government, are mandated to promote sustainable development, ethical conduct, and social welfare, aligning with national development strategies such as the Midterm National Development Plan and the Education Sector Plan, which emphasize leadership, diversity, and ethical standards to advance sustainable development practices. This study applies Transformational Leadership Theory to investigate the influence of transformational leadership on corporate social responsibility, exploring the mediating role of innovative work behavior and the moderating effect of organizational culture on this relationship. Using a stratified sampling technique, data were collected from 367 employees across six public universities in Sierra Leone and analyzed with SMART PLS software 4.1.1.2. The findings revealed that transformational leadership positively and significantly impacts corporate social responsibility and innovative work behavior, with innovative work behavior partially mediating the relationship between transformational leadership and corporate social responsibility, while organizational culture positively and significantly moderates this relationship. Based on these findings, the study recommends that public universities in Sierra Leone integrate transformational leadership principles into their institutional frameworks to improve organizational outcomes and leadership effectiveness. This can be achieved through leadership development programs emphasizing transformational attributes such as inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, and vision-sharing, alongside mentorship programs for leaders at all levels to strengthen leadership skills and foster an organizational culture aligned with institutional goals. This study investigates the impact of minimalism on ethical consumption within the framework of the Value–Identity–Personal Norms (VIP) model. Data were collected from 340 Turkish consumers using a convenience sampling method and an online survey. Analyses were conducted with SmartPLS, employing the structural equation modeling (SEM) approach to examine the relationships among the constructs. The results reveal that minimalism, conceptualized as a value, significantly shapes environmentally responsible behavior by strengthening environmental identity and personal norms, which in turn drive ethical consumption choices. By extending the VIP model, the research positions minimalism not only as a lifestyle but also as a value-based orientation that aligns with biospheric values in encouraging pro-environmental actions. Furthermore, the study underscores the importance of sustainability communication as a crucial mechanism for reinforcing the connection between minimalistic values and ethical consumer behavior. It also highlights the mediating role of environmental identity between values (both biospheric and minimalistic) and personal norms, supporting the view that values influence behavior indirectly through psychological constructs. Overall, the findings demonstrate that minimalism positively affects environmental identity and personal norms, thereby fostering ethical consumption in line with the theoretical perspectives of the Value–Belief–Norm (VBN) and pro-environmental behavior models. This research provides valuable insights into how minimalism can be integrated into sustainability communication strategies to promote sustainable consumption, particularly in emerging economies. This study extended the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) by incorporating affective constructs (innovativeness, optimism, and hedonic motivation) to examine user adoption of autonomous bus (AB) in China, where government-supported deployment creates unique adoption dynamics. Analyzing 313 responses, collected via stratified sampling using SmartPLS 4.0, we identified innovativeness as the dominant driver (total effect, β = 0.347), directly influencing behavioral intention (β = 0.164*) and indirectly shaping optimism (β = 0.692*), effort expectancy (β = 0.347*), and hedonic motivation (β = 0.681*). Our findings highlight contextual influences in public service systems. Performance expectancy (β = 0.153*) exerts a stronger effect than hedonic or social factors (H6/H3 rejected), while optimism demonstrates a dual scaffolding effect (OPT→EE, β = 0.189*; OPT→PE, β = 0.401*), reflecting a “calculative optimism” pattern where users balance technological interest with pragmatic utility evaluation in policy-supported deployment contexts. From a practical perspective, these findings suggest targeting high-innovativeness users through incentive programs, emphasizing system reliability over ease of use, and implementing adapted designs. This study contributes to the literature both theoretically, by validating the hierarchical role of innovativeness in UTAUT, and practically, by offering actionable strategies for China’s ongoing AB deployment initiative, including ISO-standardized UX and policy tools such as municipal Innovator Badges. Food tourism is growing in travel experiences, with tourists increasingly drawn to culturally authentic and aesthetically engaging food. Understanding the psychological and experiential factors shaping these preferences is crucial for enhancing tourist visit intentions. Therefore, this study examines the factors such as attitudes (ATT), subjective norms (SN), perceived behavioural control (PBC), and food aesthetic experience (FAE) that influence tourists’ behavioural intentions towards food preferences (BIFP) in Goa, India. The research extends the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) by incorporating food aesthetic experiences as a mediating factor. A quantitative approach was employed, involving a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale, administered to 217 tourists visiting Goa, India, who were selected through a random sampling method. Data were analysed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS 4.0. Results show that attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, and food aesthetic experience significantly influence tourists’ behavioural intentions towards food preferences. Food aesthetic experience emerged as a strong mediator, particularly between attitudes, perceived behavioural control, and tourists’ behavioural intentions towards food preferences. These findings highlight the role of sensory appeal in shaping culinary choices. The study concludes that a holistic approach, supported by cultural education and stakeholder collaboration, can enrich tourist experiences and support food tourism development. Full article

Social media has become a tool that exerts a significant influence on consumer behavior. In this sense, this study aims to identify whether digital social influence derived from the informational nature of social media content and online member group support influences the subjective norms and environmental attitudes of organic product consumers. This study was developed using a quantitative, correlational, and cross-sectional design. A total of 371 organic product consumers participated in the study, who were administered a questionnaire consisting of 17 questions measured on a 5-point Likert scale. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 24 and Smart PLS, and convergent validity, discriminant validity, and structural equation modeling were applied. The results of the study identified that environmental attitudes continue to be a highly influential factor in organic product purchasing behaviors and that these attitudes are shaped by subjective norms and digital social influencers, such as social media content and online member support groups. Furthermore, the study found that subjective norms mediate the relationship between environmental attitudes and social media content as well as online member support groups. Beyond contributing to the theoretical understanding of environmental attitudes, this study offers practical insights into designing digital marketing strategies that leverage social influence to promote sustainable consumption, particularly in emerging markets. This study investigates the relationship between monetary and non-monetary motivations and financial and non-financial job performance among non-academic staff in Chinese universities. Using data from 356 respondents, analyzed via Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) with Smart-PLS4, this study finds that both incentive types significantly affect performance. Monetary incentives such as salaries and bonuses primarily enhance financial performance; on the contrary, non-monetary incentives such as training, career advancement, and supportive work environments have a stronger impact on nonfinancial performance, including job satisfaction and service quality. The findings underscore the importance of implementing balanced motivation strategies that integrate both financial rewards and developmental support. From a policy perspective, this study recommends customized incentive systems to improve administrative effectiveness and contribute to the strategic development of universities. These insights offer practical guidance for strengthening human resource practices and maximizing the performance of non-academic personnel in the context of higher education in China. Full article

Workplace toxicity in the tourism sector remains a widespread issue, particularly for hotel staff who are constantly suffering from verbal, emotional, or physical abuse. While previous research has primarily highlighted the negative consequences of abusive behavior, this study examines a different perspective—how abusive supervision may be associated with reduced helping behavior among hotel employees, with emotional contagion and self-esteem serving as key moderating and mediating variables. Based on the Conservation of Resources (COR) theory, the current paper suggests that abusive supervision causes people’s psychological resources to be depleted, which decreases their self-esteem and, in turn, their helpful behavior. Furthermore, it is revealed that emotional contagion can act as a moderator to amplify the detrimental association between abusive supervision and self-esteem. Data were gathered from frontline hotels employees. Employing structural equation modeling with SmartPLS 3, the findings reveal that abusive supervision was negatively related to both self-esteem and helping behaviors. Additionally, the correlation between helpful behavior and abusive supervision was strongly mediated by self-esteem. It is also shown that emotional contagion mitigated the detrimental relationship between abusive supervision and self-esteem, such that people with high emotional contagion experienced a stronger negative relationship. This paper advances our theoretical knowledge of workplace dynamics by expanding COR theory to justify how and why abusive supervision impairs pro-social behavior. From a practical standpoint, the findings underscore the significance of management behavior and emotional intelligence in service-oriented sectors. Employee self-esteem and cooperative workplace behavior may be preserved by interventions that deplete supervisory abuse and boost emotional resilience. Full article

This longitudinal study examines how perceived brand globalness (PBG) influenced sustainable purchase intentions (SPI) between 2021 and 2024, incorporating factors such as perceived brand quality (PBQ), perceived brand prestige (PBP), brand–cause fit (BCF), and the moderating effect of consumer ethnocentrism (CE). Using survey responses from 415 participants, the study employed partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS4. The findings reveal that CE emerged as significant in 2024, while PBP’s impact on SPI weakened—suggesting a growing consumer association of prestige with sustainability. Heightened post-pandemic ethical awareness further underscores the importance of brand values. Contrary to earlier research indicating low CE in developing markets, the 2024 results demonstrate an unexpected rise in CE, highlighting its evolving significance. Overall, the study emphasizes the necessity for global brands to adopt sustainable, locally attuned strategies to succeed in developing countries. Full article

Improving construction site safety remains a critical challenge in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing construction sector, where high accident rates and diverse labor forces demand evidence-based managerial interventions. This study investigated the influence of Managers’ Safety Perceptions and Practices (MSP) on Workers’ Safety Behaviors (WSB) in the Saudi construction industry, emphasizing the mediating roles of Workers’ Safety Awareness (WSA), Safety Competency (WSC), and Safety Actions (SA). The conceptual framework integrates these three mediators to explain how managerial attitudes and practices translate into frontline safety outcomes. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was adopted using a structured questionnaire distributed among construction workers, supervisors, and project managers. A total of 352 from 384 valid responses were collected, and the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 4. The findings revealed that MSP does not directly influence WSB but has significant indirect effects through WSA, WSC, and SA. Among these, WSC emerged as the most powerful mediator, followed by WSA and SA, indicating that competency is the most critical driver of safe worker behavior. These results provide robust empirical support for a multidimensional mediation model, highlighting the need for managers to enhance safety behaviors not merely through supervision but through fostering awareness and competency, providing technical training, and implementing proactive safety measures. Theoretically, this study contributes a novel and integrative framework to the occupational safety literature, particularly within underexplored Middle Eastern construction contexts. Practically, it offers actionable insights for safety managers, industry practitioners, and policymakers seeking to improve construction safety performance in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. The widespread adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) has driven major advancements in wireless communication, especially in rural and suburban areas where low population density and limited infrastructure pose significant challenges. Accurate Path Loss (PL) prediction is critical for the effective deployment and operation of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) in such environments. This study explores the use of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for PL modeling, utilizing a comprehensive dataset collected in a smart campus setting that captures the influence of terrain and environmental variations. Several CNN architectures were evaluated based on different combinations of input features—such as distance, elevation, clutter height, and altitude—to assess their predictive accuracy. The findings reveal that CNN-based models outperform traditional propagation models (Free Space Path Loss (FSPL), Okumura–Hata, COST 231, Log-Distance), achieving lower error rates and more precise PL estimations. The best performing CNN configuration, using only distance and elevation, highlights the value of terrain-aware modeling. These results underscore the potential of deep learning techniques to enhance IoT connectivity in sparsely connected regions and support the development of more resilient communication infrastructures. This research examines the relationship between environmental, social safety and governance risks, and the mitigation strategies of the host country to enhance project performance in the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The study concludes that the timely and effective completion of CPEC projects is challenged by environmental, social safety, and governance (ESG) risks, including environmental degradation, security threats, and governance issues. Based on the data of 618 respondents from Pakistan and using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through SMART PLS 4, the study investigates the impact of sustainable environmental practices, safety and security measures, governance risk mitigation actions, and project management systems on the project performance of CPEC projects. The results show that mitigation efforts implemented by the host country reduce the ESG investment risk and yield a positive effect on the project performance. Hence, this paper will show the importance of proactive measures such as sustainable development practices, security risk management systems, and transparent governance practices in matching challenges and enhancing project benefits. This research reinforces the potential for these risks to be mitigated through the adoption of innovative technologies. Innovation in environments, social protection, and governance frameworks can greatly mitigate the negative impacts of risks, directly improving the outcomes of project delivery. Infrastructure projects are extremely challenging to manage, and this study gives key hints for enhancing project safety and risk management in those types of infrastructure projects for practitioners, policymakers, project managers, and other stakeholders to establish innovative, sustainable strategies. This study applied the Stimulus–Organism–Response Theory to investigate the impact of sustainable destination management on perceived luxury service quality, taking into account the mediating role of perceived environmental responsibility and the moderating effect of tourist environmental awareness. Data were obtained from 541 tourists in Northern Cyprus, and the analysis was conducted using Herman’s single-factor test in SPSS version 23 and partial least squares structural equation modeling in SmartPLS version 4.1.1.2. The study’s results revealed a significant positive influence of sustainable destination management on both perceived luxury service quality and environmental responsibility. Furthermore, the study showed a significant positive relationship between perceived environmental responsibility and perceived luxury service quality. Additionally, tourist environmental consciousness was found to be an important influencing factor in perceived luxury service quality. The mediating role of perceived environmental responsibility was revealed to be a significant partial mediator between sustainable destination management and perceived luxury service quality pathways. Although environmental awareness revealed an insignificant moderating influence on the relationship between sustainable destination management and perceived luxury service quality, it indicated a negative significant moderating influence on the relationship between perceived environmental responsibility and perceived luxury service quality. The study highlights how assessments of luxury services are contingent upon perceived environmental responsibility through sustainable destination activities. Emphasizing both academic and management perspectives, it encourages future research to explore broader psychological and contextual factors. Therefore, it underscores the strategic necessity of sustainability in enhancing the luxury tourism experience. Full article

This study addresses the gap in behavioral cybersecurity research by developing an integrated conceptual model that draws upon Operant Conditioning Theory (OCT), Protection Motivation Theory (PMT), and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to explore ISP compliance. The research aims to identify key cognitive, motivational, and behavioral factors that shape employees’ intentions and actual compliance with ISPs. The model examines seven independent variables of perceived severity: perceived vulnerability, rewards, punishment, attitude toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control, with intention serving as a mediating variable and actual ISP compliance as the outcome. A quantitative approach was used, collecting data via an online survey from 302 employees across the public and private sectors. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS software (v.4.1.1.2) analyzed the complex relationships among variables, testing the proposed model. The findings reveal that perceived severity, punishment, attitude toward behavior, and perceived behavioral control, significantly and positively, influence employees’ intentions to comply with information security policies. Conversely, perceived vulnerability, rewards, and subjective norms do not show a significant effect on compliance intentions. Moreover, the intention to comply strongly predicts actual compliance behavior, thus confirming its key role as a mediator linking cognitive, motivational, and behavioral factors to real security practices. This study offers an original contribution by uniting three well-established theories into a single explanatory model and provides actionable insights for designing effective, psychologically informed interventions to enhance ISP adherence and reduce insider risks. This study builds on Davis’ TAM by integrating environmental and psychological variables relevant to AI medical diagnostics. This study developed a mathematical theoretical model called the “AI medical diagnosis-acceptance evaluation model” (AMD-AEM) to better understand acceptance behavior intention. Using mathematical modeling, we established reflective measurement model indicators and structural equation relationships, where linear structural equations illustrate the interactions among latent variables. In 2025, we collected empirical data from 2380 patients and medical staff who have experience with AI diagnostic systems in teaching hospitals in central Taiwan. Smart PLS 3 was employed to validate the AMD-AEM model. The results reveal that perceived usefulness (PU) and information quality (IQ) are the primary predictors of acceptance behavior intention (ABI). Additionally, perceived ease of use (PE) indirectly influences ABI through PU and attitude toward use (ATU). AI emotional perception (AEP) notably shows a significant positive relationship with ATU, highlighting that warm and positive human–AI interactions are crucial for user acceptance. IQ was identified as a mediating variable, with variance accounted for (VAF) coefficient analysis confirming its complete mediation effect on the path from ATU to ABI. This indicates that information quality enhances user attitudes and directly increases acceptance behavior intention. The AMD-AEM model demonstrates an excellent fit, providing valuable insights for academia and the healthcare industry. Full article

This paper examines the moderating role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on the relationship between environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions and investor decision-making in Jordan. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire designed for institutional investors and financial analysts, capturing perceptions of ESG, CSR, and investment behavior. A stratified random sample of 350 professionals across the financial, industrial, and service sectors was surveyed. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings show that environmental and social dimensions have positive effects on investor decisions, with governance dimensions having a negative effect. Notably, CSR has a negative moderating effect on the governance dimensions and investor decision, with no observed statistical moderating effect for environmental or social dimensions. This research unravels the multidimensional role of CSR in building the ESG-investor decision interface and identifies a counterintuitive negative moderating impact of CSR on governance, contributing to the existing literature on sustainability alignment in emerging markets. The results offer practical implications for companies aiming to attract sustainability-oriented investors by indicating the necessity for an integrated and genuine CSR and ESG approach. Full article
