Armed conflict poses a significant threat to the mental health of youth worldwide. This study focused on the role of teachers as protective agents fostering resilience among their students. The study examined the moderating effects of teachers’ personal well-being and their efficacy in the school on relations between their students’ armed conflict exposure and student psychiatric symptoms. Participants included 1260 students and their homeroom teachers from 62 8–11th grade classes. Using self-report standardized measures, teachers reported their life satisfaction and sense of efficacy while students reported their armed conflict exposure and psychiatric symptoms. Data were analyzed using a multilevel modeling (MLM) approach. Findings revealed positive correlations between student armed conflict exposure and psychiatric symptoms. In the between-class level of analysis, teacher personal life satisfaction and efficacy in participation in the school system emerged as protective factors for the students, significantly moderating relations between student exposure and their psychiatric symptoms. However, teacher efficacy in class management showed no significant moderating effect on student mental-health difficulties. Results highlight the importance of supporting teachers in conflict-affected environments and emphasize the need for preventive and therapeutic initiatives that prioritize teacher well-being and organizational resources to enhance teachers’ capacity to foster student resilience. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the B Impact Assessment (BIA) as a catalyst for integrating sustainability into industrial firms through a qualitative case study of LC Paper, the first B Corp-certified tissue manufacturer globally and a pioneer in applying BIA in the pulp and paper sector. Based on semi-structured interviews, organizational documents, and direct observation, this study examines how BIA influences corporate governance, environmental practices, and stakeholder engagement. The findings show that BIA fosters structured goal setting and the implementation of measurable actions aligned with environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic resilience. Tangible outcomes include improved stakeholder trust, internal transparency, and employee development, while implementation challenges such as resource allocation and procedural complexity are also reported. Although the single-case design limits generalizability, this study identifies mechanisms transferable to other firms, particularly those in environmentally intensive sectors. The case studied also illustrates how leadership commitment, participatory governance, and data-driven tools facilitate the operationalization of sustainability. By integrating stakeholder and institutional theory, this study contributes conceptually to understanding certification frameworks as tools for embedding sustainability. This research offers both theoretical and practical insights into how firms can align strategy and impact, expanding the application of BIA beyond early adopters and into traditional industrial contexts. Fileless malware is a type of malware that does not rely on executable files to persist or propagate. Unlike traditional file-based malware, fileless malware is more difficult to detect and remove, posing a significant threat to organizations. This paper introduces a novel hybrid analysis model that combines static and dynamic analysis techniques to identify fileless malware. Applied to four real-world and two custom-created fileless malware samples, the proposed model demonstrated its qualitative effectiveness in uncovering complex behaviors and evasion tactics, such as obfuscated macros, process injection, registry persistence, and covert network communications, which often bypass single-method analyses. While the analysis reveals the potential for significant damage to organizational reputation, resources, and operations, the paper also outlines a set of mitigation measures that cybersecurity professionals and researchers can adopt to protect users and organizations against threats posed by fileless malware. Overall, this research offers valuable insights and a novel analysis model to better address and understand fileless malware threats. Full article

Although organizational resilience is well established, refining the systematic quantitative evaluation of health systems resilience (HSR) remains an ongoing opportunity for advancement. Research either focuses on individual HSR indicators, such as social welfare policy, public expenditure, health insurance, healthcare quality, and technology, or broadly examines socio-economic factors, highlighting the need for a more comprehensive methodological approach. This study employed the Slacks-Based Measure (SBM) within Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to analyze efficiency by maximizing outputs. It systematically examined key HSR factors across countries, providing insights for improved policymaking and resource allocation. Taking a five-year (2016–2020) dataset that covered 55 to 56 countries and evaluating 17 indicators across governance, health systems, and economic aspects, the paper presents that all sixteen top-ranked countries with a perfect efficiency score of 1 belonged to the high-income group, with ten in Europe, highlighting regional HSR differences. This paper concludes that adequate economic resources form the foundation of HSR and ensure stability and sustained progress. A properly supported healthcare workforce is essential for significantly enhancing health systems and delivering quality care. Last, effective governance and the equitable allocation of resources are crucial for fostering sustainable development and strengthening HSR. Full article

This study explores how corporate governance reforms can enhance financial reporting quality and organizational transparency, focusing on Greece’s transition from Law 3016/2002 to Law 4706/2020. The legislative reform aimed to modernize governance structures, align national practices with international standards, and strengthen investor protection in a post-crisis economic environment. Moving beyond a simple legal comparison, the study examines how Law 3016/2002’s formal compliance model contrasts with Law 4706/2020’s more substantive accountability framework. We hypothesize that Law 4706/2020 introduces substantively stronger governance mechanisms than its predecessor, thereby improving transparency and investor protection, while compliance with the new law imposes materially greater administrative and financial burdens, especially on small- and mid-cap firms. Methodologically, the research employs a narrative literature review and a structured comparative legal analysis to assess the administrative and financial implications of the new law for publicly listed companies, focusing on board composition and diversity, internal controls, suitability policies, and disclosure requirements. Drawing on prior comparative evidence, we posit that Law 4706/2020 will foster governance and disclosure improvements, enhanced oversight, and clearer board roles. However, these measures also impose compliance burdens. Due to the heterogeneity of listed companies and the lack of firm-level data following Law 4706/2020’s implementation, the findings are neither fully generalizable nor quantifiable; future quantitative research using event studies or panel data is required to validate the hypotheses. We conclude that Greece’s new framework is a critical step toward sustainable corporate governance and more transparent financial reporting, offering regulators, practitioners, and scholars examining legal reform’s impact on governance effectiveness and financial reporting integrity. This contributed paper presents results from efforts by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) to investigate the impact of integrating conservation into AZA members’ organizational cultures. Part of this work included AZA setting goals related to organizational and professional culture, strategic communication, developing communities of practice, and promoting tools and resource-sharing. Prior to implementing the majority of these steps, a baseline assessment was administered to directors plus a random sample of AZA organizations in 2020—assessing how well conservation is integrated into the institutional culture and measures of perceived conservation impact. The same sample of organizations was re-surveyed in 2023 with the intent of a three-year cycle of surveying to monitor change and identify additional ways that AZA could support and strengthen a culture of conservation within the profession. These findings will help the zoological and broader conservation community assess opportunities to integrate conservation into organizational cultures across a broad association for the purpose of achieving the mission and impact. Background: Nursing students often experience heightened levels of stress during clinical training due to the dual demands of academic and clinical responsibilities. These stressors, compounded by environmental and organizational factors, can adversely affect students’ well-being, academic performance, and the quality of patient care they deliver. Aim: This study aimed to identify the key stressors influencing nursing students’ perceptions of single-shift quality (SSQ) during clinical training and to examine how well students can predict the quality of their shift based on pre-shift expectations. Methodology: A cross-sectional survey design was implemented, collecting pre- and post-shift data from 325 nursing students undergoing clinical training in Alabama. The survey measured 13 domains related to workload, environmental conditions, organizational interactions, coping strategies, and overall satisfaction. Paired t tests and linear regressions were used to assess changes in perception and identify key predictors of SSQ. Results: This study found significant discrepancies between students’ pre- and post-shift evaluations across multiple domains, including internal environment, organizational interaction with clinical faculty/preceptors, and coping strategies (p < 0.001). Students also accurately predicted stable factors such as patient characteristics and external environment. Pre-shift expectations did not significantly predict post-shift experiences. Post-shift perceptions revealed that stress-coping strategies and collegiality were the strongest predictors of shift quality. Conclusion: Students enter clinical shifts with optimistic expectations that often do not align with actual experiences, particularly regarding support and stress management. The SSQ framework offers a valuable tool for identifying gaps in clinical training and guiding interventions that foster resilience and better alignment between expectations and real-world practice. ESG serves as a key metric for measuring corporate sustainability, but divergence among rating agencies has led to uncertainty in such an assessment. This investigation identifies ESG rating divergence as a critical catalyst for corporate digital transformation, establishing empirical analysis through a robust positive correlation between the heterogeneity in sustainability assessments and organizational digitalization intensity. Comprehensive robustness examinations and endogeneity controls substantiate the persistent significance of this relationship. Mechanistically, such divergence drives technological adaptation by restructuring the R&D team composition and elevating capital allocation toward innovative initiatives. Contextual heterogeneity manifests through amplified effects in firms with elevated analyst scrutiny and stringent internal governance, whereas pollution-intensive enterprises exhibit significant effect suppression. These findings collectively advance theoretical frameworks concerning ESG evaluation economics and digital transformation drivers, while furnishing actionable implementation blueprints for corporate digitization strategists. Workaholism and perfectionism have increasingly been identified as significant obstacles to effective lifelong learning and skills development, ultimately undermining long-term career adaptability and organizational resilience. This study explores the predictive role of perfectionism and professional workaholism, with a particular focus on their implications for continuous education and occupational sustainability—defined as employees’ ability to remain adaptable and resilient over time. Using a cross-sectional quantitative design, data were collected from 105 participants (54 IT professionals and 51 nurses) who completed standardized measures of perfectionism and workaholism and reported their cognitive–emotional readiness for further training. Four regression models were employed to assess the impact of the three perfectionism dimensions and profession on overall workaholism and its subcomponents (excessive work, compulsive work, supplementary work). Socially prescribed perfectionism emerged as a strong predictor, accounting for over one-third of the variance in workaholism (β = 0.37; R2_adj = 0.368; p < 0.001), while self-oriented perfectionism significantly predicted excessive work (β = 0.25; p = 0.015). Professional domain had no significant effect, indicating the trans-professional nature of these psychological barriers. Additionally, workaholism was associated with reduced cognitive–emotional availability for ongoing training, highlighting its detrimental effects on lifelong learning. Limitations include the cross-sectional design and reliance on convenience sampling. From a practical perspective, the findings support interventions targeting maladaptive perfectionism, aiming to enhance engagement in continuous professional education and foster sustainable work environments, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 and SDG 8). Background/Objectives: Evidence-based practice (EBP) has been widely adopted in clinical nursing practice, with nursing education efforts consistently emphasizing its importance in strengthening implementation efforts. Despite these efforts to promote translational research, the level of implementation of evidence-based practice (EBP) in clinical nursing practice remains unsatisfactory. This study aimed to identify specific organizational, individual, and research-related barriers to the utilization of research in clinical practice among nurses in Sabah, Malaysia, to determine factors associated with these perceived barriers and to assess nurses’ awareness and understanding of the implementation of evidence-based practice. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 2019 using the BARRIERS scale, a validated tool that measures perceived barriers to the utilization of research across four domains: organizational barriers, nurses’ research awareness and values, quality of research, and research communication. This study involved nurses from five tertiary hospitals in Sabah, Malaysia. Results: A total of 562 nurses participated in the study, with a mean age of 34.3 years (SD = 7.96) and mean duration of clinical practice of 10.0 years (SD = 7.58). While 66.5% of the nurses had heard of EBP, only 7.3% reported understanding it very well. The top three barriers to the utilization of research were ‘the nurse does not feel she/he has enough authority to change patient care procedures’ (35.9%), ‘the nurse does not have time to read research’ (27.8%), and ‘research reports/articles are not published fast enough’ (25.8%). Among the four domains, organizational barriers scored highest (mean = 2.7, SD = 0.72), followed by research communication (mean = 2.6, SD = 0.73). Conclusions: The study findings emphasize the challenges nurses encounter in integrating research into clinical practice and highlight the need for ongoing efforts to promote the utilization of evidence-based practice and research among nurses in Sabah, while addressing the identified gaps. Background/Objectives: Generating real-world data on the efficacy of multidisciplinary care in cardiometabolic risk management is essential to ensure that guidelines are both applicable and effective, especially in public healthcare settings, where organizational structures may impede healthcare professionals’ agility. This study aimed to generate data on patient follow-up and cardiometabolic risk management during the early years of a public university family medicine group in Québec (Canada) that provides multidisciplinary care to adults with cardiometabolic conditions, in order to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of its care model. Methods: This was a retrospective longitudinal study. Patients treated at the clinic from 31 January 2020 (clinic opening) to 8 May 2024 (n = 96) were invited to consent to the use of their medical data for research. Results: A total of 52 patients consented and were included in the study. Upon entry at the clinic, >90% of patients had anthropometry and blood pressure (BP) measured, but plasma glucose and lipids were assessed among 50% and 79% of patients, respectively. A total of 36 patients completed the personalized multidisciplinary care program. No evidence of associations between the total number of appointments or appointments with the registered dietitian specifically with changes in BMI, waist circumference, and BP was found. However, each pharmaceutical intervention was associated with a −0.51 cm (95%CI: −1.03, 0.02; p = 0.06) change in waist circumference and a −1.49 mm Hg (95%CI: −2.56, −0.43, p = 0.01) change in diastolic BP. Conclusions: These data highlight the challenges of implementing a research-oriented clinic within Québec’s public healthcare system. Full article

Evaluating performance is a necessary and specific process across all sectors and organizational levels, shaped by context, indicators, and purpose. Considering global sustainability transitions, understanding financial performance entails a deeper perspective on technical accuracy, conceptual clarity, and systemic integration. This study investigates how financial performance is assessed and interpreted in sustainability-focused research, drawing on a bibliometric analysis of 490 articles indexed in the Web of Science from 2007 to 2023. Using SciMAT, we traced thematic evolutions and revealed a fragmented research landscape marked by competing theoretical, methodological, and practical orientations. To address this conceptual dispersion, we applied the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate five key alternatives to financial-performance assessment (quantitative measurement, definition-oriented reasoning, theoretical frameworks, experiential comparison, and integration with sustainability and ethics) against three conceptual criteria (philosophical depth, holistic scope, and multidisciplinary relevance). The results highlight a strong preference for holistic and integrative models of financial performance, with quantitative measurement ranking highest in practical terms, followed by experiential and sustainability-driven approaches. These results underscore the need to align financial evaluation more closely with sustainability values, bridging short-term metrics with long-term societal impact. By combining diachronic thematic mapping with structured decision analysis, this study advances a more reflective and forward-looking framework for performance research. It contributes to sustainability research by identifying underexplored epistemological pathways and supporting the development of financial evaluation models that are inclusive, ethically grounded, and aligned with sustainable development goals. Methods: We conducted a narrative review of peer-reviewed studies (2015–2025) examining optical marker-based, inertial measurement unit (IMU) systems, including Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-integrated systems, and markerless computer vision systems. Studies were evaluated for validated accuracy metrics across indoor court, aquatic, and outdoor field environments. Results: Optical systems maintain sub-millimeter accuracy in controlled environments but face field limitations. IMU systems demonstrate an angular accuracy of 2–8° depending on movement complexity. Markerless systems show variable accuracy (sagittal: 3–15°, transverse: 3–57°). Environmental factors substantially impact system performance, with aquatic settings introducing an additional orientation error of 2° versus terrestrial applications. Outdoor environments challenge GNSS-based tracking (±0.3–3 m positional accuracy). Critical gaps include limited gender-specific validation and insufficient long-term reliability data. Conclusions: This review proposes a tiered implementation framework combining foundation-level team monitoring with specialized assessment tools. This paper presents an integrated Smart City platform that combines digital twin technology, advanced machine learning, and a private blockchain network to enhance data-driven decision making and operational efficiency in both public enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The proposed cloud-based business intelligence model automates Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, enables real-time analytics, and secures data integrity and transparency through blockchain-enabled audit trails. By implementing the proposed solution, Smart City and public service providers can significantly improve operational efficiency, including a 15% reduction in costs and a 12% decrease in fuel consumption for waste management, as well as increased citizen engagement and transparency in Smart City governance. The digital twin component facilitated scenario simulations and proactive resource management, while the participatory governance module empowered citizens through transparent, immutable records of proposals and voting. This study also discusses technical, organizational, and regulatory challenges, such as data integration, scalability, and privacy compliance. The results indicate that the proposed approach offers a scalable and sustainable model for Smart City transformation, fostering citizen trust, regulatory compliance, and measurable environmental and social benefits. The Role of University Professors’ Emotional Competencies in Students’ Academic and Psychological Well-Being: A Systematic Review

In higher education, the emotional intelligence (EI) of university professors, defined as the ability to perceive, understand, manage and utilize emotions effectively, is increasingly recognized as a pivotal factor in enhancing students’ academic achievement and psychological well-being. However, the scarcity of studies directly linking professors’ EI to students’ well-being highlights a critical research gap. This systematic review investigates how professors’ emotional competencies influence student outcomes—such as academic performance, engagement, motivation, and mental health—and identifies the factors that mediate or moderate these effects. Findings indicate that professors’ EI, particularly empathy, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills, significantly enhances student engagement, motivation, and academic satisfaction, with indirect effects on psychological well-being. Cultural context, teaching modality (e.g., online vs. in-person), and professors’ age and experience moderate these effects and influence effect sizes. Qualitative synthesis further highlighted contextual gaps in the literature. The limited focus on well-being and outcomes and reliance on self-report measures underscore the need for longitudinal, culturally diverse studies and performance-based EI assessments. The value of this research lies in its potential to inform evidence-based educational practices and institutional policies. By elucidating the role of professors’ EI, the review lays the groundwork for developing faculty training programs aimed at strengthening emotional competencies and fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments that promote student growth and resilience. This is especially relevant given the growing prevalence of stress, anxiety, and disengagement among university students, exacerbated by post-pandemic challenges and academic pressures. Understanding the impact of EI can inform culturally responsive interventions, improve student retention, and enhance institutional effectiveness, thereby addressing a pressing need in contemporary higher education. In today’s rapidly evolving technological, social, and cultural landscape, universities have both the opportunity and the responsibility to act as catalysts for the creation of an educational culture that promotes social well-being. This requires adopting educational and organizational models that prioritize human care and the quality of interpersonal relationships. To be effective, these priorities must be integrated into all university operations, from governance to student support and talent development. Full article
