The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into human resources management is driving a profound transformation in the evolution of management, and even more so in the management of human talent, which is the primary resource of any organization. This research provides an in-depth analysis of the impact of AI on core human resource management processes, covering the automation of operations that enables the exploration of dimensions such as talent acquisition, training, potential development, mental well-being, strategic workforce planning, job design, diversity, compensation, equity and inclusion, change management, culture and sustainability. The purpose of this study is to systematically synthesize the existing evidence on the impact of artificial intelligence on human management processes, identifying the scientific consensus, emerging contradictions, research gaps, and implications for sustainable organizational development. A systematic review was conducted of various sources published between 2020 and 2025 from databases such as ScienceDirect and Scopus, among others, using predefined Boolean search strategies, explicit inclusion and exclusion criteria and a structured thematic synthesis narrowing down the main studies based on search criteria. It was determined how algorithms are changing the employer-employee relationship within organizations. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of AI depends on the development of a hybrid intelligence that preserves the human factor consideration. It is concluded that AI enables the optimization of cultural change management, analytical precision, and ethical oversight—which are irreplaceable and critical human competencies in today’s digital age. This review contributes to the literature by providing a comprehensive synthesis of recent evidence, identifying unresolved research gaps, and proposing a future research agenda that will lead to the development of sustainable, responsible, and people-centered AI in human resource management. Entrepreneurial ecosystems are increasingly viewed as drivers of sustainable and inclusive development, yet their true capacity to translate entrepreneurship into inclusive outcomes remains insufficiently understood. This study addresses this gap by linking national-level entrepreneurship indicators to three dimensions of inclusive growth—decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9), and inequality reduction (SDG 10)—using data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor’s National Expert Survey (NES) for 37 countries over the period 2020 to 2024. By integrating multistage machine learning techniques with institutional and ecosystem theories, the study captures the nonlinear and interdependent dynamics among entrepreneurial framework conditions. The results reveal that development outcomes depend not on isolated factors but on complementarities among finance, infrastructure, and R&D transfer. Entrepreneurial ecosystems foster innovation and productive employment, yet their inclusiveness hinges on institutional efficiency, governance quality, and redistributive capacity. The findings show that policy intent diverges from policy impact, as governmental support and cultural norms exert adverse effects when institutional coherence and absorptive capacity are weak. The research advances entrepreneurship theory by moving beyond linear, additive models toward a systemic understanding of ecosystem complementarity, and offers policy insights, emphasizing that innovation-led growth must be embedded in institutional coherence and social inclusion to achieve sustainable and equitable development. Cultural Routes have become important instruments for promoting shared heritage and sustainable tourism across Europe, yet the potential of travel literature to inform their development remains underexplored, particularly in the case of Via Egnatia. This study addresses this gap by developing a theoretical distinction between travel narratives as ideologically situated representations, shaped by colonial and Orientalist discourse, and as potentially corroborable sources of historical–geographical evidence. It applies this framework to nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century accounts by Byron, Leake, Lear, and Durham, published between 1812 and 1909. Using a qualitative, theory-informed case-study design, the study combines critical discourse analysis with the thematic coding of 127 narrative references, supported by a documented codebook, an intra-coder consistency check (84% agreement), and triangulation across authors and independent historical and archaeological sources. The analysis identifies documentary support for a mobility corridor along the Shkumbin Valley, derived primarily from the convergence between Leake and Lear and consistent with independent archaeological scholarship. A site-level cross-check of six heritage assets and a small purposive sample of recent visitor reviews provides preliminary indications that formal heritage protection already exists along the corridor, while visitor-facing interpretation does not consistently connect individual sites to a coherent Via Egnatia narrative. A similar pattern emerges from the analysis of Albania’s national tourism-planning documents. The study’s principal contribution is theoretical: it shows how critically read travel narratives can extend destination-storytelling and heritage-interpretation theory beyond descriptive associations, while offering a potentially transferable methodological framework for translating narrative and empirical evidence into interpretive practice for the Council of Europe Cultural Routes Programme. With the ever-growing population and increasing demand for food, cultivated meat (CM) represents a potentially sustainable alternative source of protein. However, one of the critical challenges is ensuring that the nutritional value of CM is comparable to that of conventional meat. In light of this, this scoping review aimed to systematically map the existing evidence from in vitro studies and identify potential nutritional fortification methods for CM. Literature searches were conducted in PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science from inception to December 2025, supplemented by a hand search in January 2026. Studies were included if they were in vitro studies related to cultivated food that applied a fortification strategy or treatment to improve the nutritional value or food functionality and reported the relevant outcomes. Extracted data (e.g., fortification methods, cell lines, study results) were synthesized descriptively. Seven studies were eligible for inclusion. Three fortification strategies were identified, including metabolic engineering, product reformulation, and nutrient-enriched cell culture medium. Reported outcomes varied among the included studies and included changes in nutritional value, food functionality, and cellular functionality of CM. However, most studies used cell models that are primarily intended for research purposes rather than food production or human consumption, which may limit their relevance to commercial CM products. In conclusion, this review identified preliminary fortification approaches that may modify the nutritional value, food functionality, or cellular functionality of CM. However, further investigation is needed to determine their effects on the nutritional composition of the resulting cell biomass or final CM product. Full article

Urban–rural governance and planning systems, as viewed through the lens of online public attention, are reshaping approaches to achieving coordinated development of cultural heritage conservation and urban space. Taking Nanchang as a case study, this paper investigates the application mechanism of online public attention in the evaluation of heritage corridor nodes and the formulation of optimization strategies. Employing multi-source data collection, we extracted textual content from online travelogues. We quantified the online attention level of each cultural heritage unit and analyzed its spatial distribution using kernel density estimation and standard deviational ellipse methods. We then applied a minimum resistance model, incorporating geographic data on land use and transportation networks, to identify potential heritage corridor routes. Based on attention classification, we propose a three-tier optimization strategy: core-leading, marginal-activating, and gradient-linking. Specifically, high-attention heritage units are positioned as central nodes that reinforce corridor connectivity; low-attention nodes are targeted for activation through corridor links to overcome spatial isolation; and attention gradients serve as the basis for hierarchical integration across the network. Our results reveal a pronounced spatial pattern of “core agglomeration and peripheral dispersion” in Nanchang’s heritage corridors. High-attention resources are heavily concentrated in the historic urban core, anchoring the main corridor axes, whereas low-attention resources are scattered across peripheral counties, exhibiting a clear urban–rural attention gradient. Importantly, attention levels show a positive correlation with corridor hierarchy. These findings provide a novel perspective for heritage corridor spatial planning and offer practical insights for sustainable cultural heritage governance and culture–tourism integration in an era of pervasive internet and urban expansion. Riparian landscapes in peri-urban floodplains are important components of urban green infrastructure, but urbanization is eroding their capacity to support ecosystem services. This study examined the implications of riparian landscape change for ecosystem service capacity and developed spatially explicit recommendations to inform land use planning in Shanghai’s peri-urban fringe. A multi-scale landscape metric-based proxy assessment was applied to characterize changes in landscape composition and configuration at the regional and riparian buffer scales. From 2000 to 2020, the study area underwent pronounced land use change: the dominant land use type shifted from agricultural land (59.16%) to built-up land (67.69%), while 28% of water area and 57% of vegetated land were converted to other uses. Landscape metrics indicated a systemic shift toward fragmentation, characterized by higher patch density, smaller mean patch size, lower largest-patch and Contagion Indices, and simpler patch geometries. Changes within riparian buffers further indicated an overall decline in the potential capacity to provide provisioning, regulating, and cultural ecosystem services. By integrating landscape composition and configuration across spatial scales, the proposed framework links regional land use control with site-scale riparian design and provides an adaptable basis for sustaining ecosystem services in rapidly urbanizing floodplain and deltaic cities. Background/Objectives: Glioblastoma is an aggressive primary brain tumor that develops within a chronically low-oxygen microenvironment, yet most preclinical studies are performed under atmospheric oxygen conditions that poorly reflect in vivo physiology. This study investigated how sustained culture under physiological oxygen tension (physioxia) influences glioblastoma cell behavior, signaling, and therapeutic response. Methods: Multiple patient-derived glioblastoma models were cultured under normoxia (21% O2) or sustained physioxia (5% O2) for at least seven days before experimentation. Cell migration, proliferation, cell cycle distribution, expression of the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition-associated transcription factor Slug (SNAI2), PDGFRβ-associated signaling, and sensitivity to 5-fluorouracil were evaluated using transwell migration assays, cell counting, flow cytometry, RT-qPCR, immunoblotting, and BrdU incorporation assays. To examine the effects of oxygen history, we established and maintained additional patient-derived cultures grown under physioxia. Results: Sustained physioxia consistently increased migration across all glioblastoma models while reducing proliferation in normoxia-adapted cell lines through increased G0/G1 cell cycle arrest. Physioxia significantly increased Slug expression in all models and enhanced PDGFRβ, AKT, and ERK phosphorylation in a cell line-dependent manner. Therapeutic sensitivity to 5-fluorouracil was altered, with physioxia conferring increased resistance in some glioblastoma models but not universally. Patient-derived cell lines cultured continuously under physioxia retained enhanced migratory capacity and exhibited increased proliferation compared to cells grown in normoxia, suggesting that prior oxygen exposure influences proliferative responses while the pro-migratory phenotype remains conserved. Conclusions: Physiological oxygen tension is a major regulator of glioblastoma cell behavior, influencing migration, proliferation, signaling, and therapeutic response. These findings demonstrate that conventional normoxic culture conditions can obscure biologically relevant phenotypes and support the consideration of physioxia in experimental design. Such technical changes may improve the physiological and translational relevance of preclinical glioblastoma research. Full article

Plant-based traditional medicine underpins primary health care across rural areas, yet its long-term continuity depends on both the transmission of local knowledge and the management of the plant resources that sustain this practice. This study aimed to identify medicinal plant species in Colcamar district (Amazonas, Peru) that combine high cultural importance with deficient reported environmental management, using a sustainability-oriented cultural–environmental prioritisation index. An observational, analytical cross-sectional study was conducted in five annexes of Colcamar district. Household heads and traditional medicine practitioners (n = 87) were interviewed during a single ethnobotanical field campaign in 2025, generating 1038 plant-informant records for 102 species with taxonomic identification and at least one valid plant-informant record. Cultural importance was estimated using the relative frequency of citation (RFC). Environmental management was assessed using a custom instrument of 11 indicators evaluated through exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach’s alpha, and intraclass correlation by informant. The factor analysis yielded a two-factor solution (KMO = 0.786; 50.6% of variance explained): socio-economic valuation and environmental management. Internal consistency was acceptable for the total scale (alpha = 0.826) and for each retained factor (alpha ≥ 0.85). Three indicators with intraclass correlation below 0.10 (source of acquisition, cultivation technique, and agroecosystem practices) varied across species and were used to build the environmental management index (EMI). Hierba santa (Cestrum auriculatum Lindl.) showed the highest cultural importance (RFC = 0.540), whereas pava (Petiveria alliacea L.) showed the lowest environmental management (EMI = 0.250), defining priority groups for management intervention. Exploratory regression suggested an unconfirmed trend towards higher socio-economic valuation among expert informants, although this finding should be interpreted cautiously because the global model was not statistically significant and only seven informants were classified as experts. The index should be interpreted as a sustainability-oriented prioritisation tool rather than as a direct ecological estimate of population status, regeneration, or harvesting pressure. Full article

Fetal bovine serum (FBS) is commonly added to cell culture media, but for cultivated meat production to become truly sustainable, ethical and affordable, an alternative to it is necessary. The purpose of this study was to demonstrate how myoblasts could be cultivated in reduced-serum media using animal-free scaffolds. Novel chitosan/carrageenan hydrogels were developed and conjugated with peptides obtained by digestion of C-phycocyanin from cyanobacteria Arthrospira platensis, their physico-chemical properties were assessed, and their ability to serve as scaffolds for myoblast cultivation in reduced-serum media was examined. These hydrogels were found to possess suitable physical characteristics to serve as scaffolds for cell culture, and it was demonstrated that their use made quail muscle clone 7 (QM7) cell cultivation possible in reduced-FBS media. These hydrogels, therefore, are a promising candidate for use as scaffolds in future cultivated meat production studies. Full article

The Annonaceae family in Mexico comprises a wide diversity of species with economic, cultural, agricultural, and pharmacological importance; however, research on this group remains fragmented. Therefore, this study analyzed the scientific output on Annonaceae in Mexico using a bibliometric approach. A total of 342 articles published between 1980 and 2025 in the Web of Science were retrieved and analyzed using VOSviewer version 1.6.16. The results showed a sustained increase in annual scientific production; approximately 90% of the articles were published in Q1 journals, with impact factors ranging from 1.3 to 13.4, highlighting the scientific relevance of this family. The main research areas were plant sciences, agriculture, biochemistry and molecular biology, entomology, and food science and technology. Emerging topics focused on the antitumor potential of species such as Annona muricata, A. cherimola, A. coriacea, and A. purpurea. Research on Annonaceae in Mexico has expanded in a multidisciplinary manner, although limited interaction between different areas and institutions persists. This field offers opportunities for biodiversity conservation, sustainable use, and the development of biotechnological and pharmacological applications. Full article

Over several decades, digital cultural heritage has been increasingly reused across research, education, creative practice and through public community engagement. However, these activities remain undescribed or inconsistently documented and difficult to compare. Organisations typically rely on ‘proxy metrics’ such as downloads, page views or reverse searches to assess use/reuse. However, these metrics reveal little about how materials were transformed, interpreted, or how they generated value and impact. GLAMs often rely on unstructured anecdotes to capture/trace reuse, as it is difficult to retrospectively document reuse when GLAMs publish cultural heritage data openly without the expectation of users to tell the organisation what they did with the digital cultural heritage they accessed and used. Documenting reuse approaches often focuses on single dimensions or factors such as sector, content type, audience or impact. This has resulted in fragmented knowledge about digital cultural heritage reuse, which has created limitations in carrying out evaluations across examples, learning from good practice and planning digital cultural heritage initiatives. This article introduces and empirically grounds a flexible, multi-dimensional schema for documenting and planning digital cultural heritage reuse. Using an abductive methodology that combines literature analysis and synthesis, practitioner interviews, user-journey examinations and iterative prototyping, we developed a six-category framework capturing (1) organisation and context, (2) heritage assets and technologies, (3) purpose and process, (4) users and engagement modes, (5) nature of use and availability, and (6) impact and sustainability. Applied across real-world examples, this framework can reveal forms of value, dependency and risk, often absent from conventional reporting in the reuse of digital cultural heritage. We argue that reuse documentation functions as a form of socio-technical infrastructure, enabling a shared vocabulary and understanding for cross-case comparison, cumulative learning and strategic design of digital heritage initiatives. By shifting categorisation from retrospective description to include prospective planning, the framework supports a more meaningful impact assessment and sustainable reuse of digital cultural heritage as a societal resource. Precision nutrigenomics requires a diet–microbiome–host perspective because microorganisms can transform feed substrates, generate bioactive metabolites, compete with pathogens, and modify intestinal and systemic gene regulation. This structured narrative review synthesizes representative controlled feeding trials, transcriptomic and targeted gene-expression studies, microbiome analyses, and complementary multi-omic evidence concerning dietary regulations in cultured finfish. The available evidence is concentrated particularly on soybean-derived proteins, lipid-source replacements, selected amino acids and micronutrients, functional additives, probiotics, and fermented ingredients in a limited range of cultured finfish species; therefore, the synthesis is not intended to provide exhaustive coverage of every dietary intervention or finfish taxon. Recurrent host responses involve intestinal inflammation and barrier integrity, nutrient transport, lipid and bile-acid metabolism, long-chain polyunsaturated fatty-acid biosynthesis, targets of rapamycin/insulin-like growth factor (TOR/IGF) signaling, and nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2/Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Nrf2/Keap1) antioxidant defense. The expanded microorganism-centered synthesis shows that dietary effects depend on microbial niche, substrate availability, community succession, metabolite production, and strain-specific probiotic or pathobiont activity. Lactic-acid bacteria, Bacillus-associated interventions, butyrate-generating strategies, fermented ingredients, and microbial biomass may support digestion, immune balance, and disease resistance, but taxonomic shifts alone do not demonstrate functional benefit. Current evidence is limited by extensive reliance on 16S ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) relative-abundance data, inconsistent digesta-versus-mucosa sampling, inadequate feed and water controls, and weak causal validation. Future precision aquafeed studies should combine host transcriptomics with absolute microbial quantification, shotgun metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, metabolomics, culturomics, histology, and pathogen challenge. Integrating microbial function with host phenotype can improve sustainable feed design, intestinal health, and resilience. Full article

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) from traditional foods are a useful source of natural biopreservatives. This study isolated and characterized indigenous LAB from goat meat produced in the argan grove ecosystem of the Souss-Massa region, Morocco, to identify strains that could improve food safety and shelf life. LAB were isolated under anaerobic conditions and screened by Gram staining, catalase test, growth profiling, and biochemical assays. Proteolytic, gelatinase, and hemolytic activity were assessed, together with antimicrobial activity against foodborne pathogens by agar well diffusion. The most promising strains were identified by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The selected isolates belonged to Latilactobacillus and Enterococcus. Several isolates strongly inhibited Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus aureus, and none were hemolytic or gelatinase-positive. The sustained inhibition even after neutralization of pH suggested that the antimicrobial effects might be mediated by bacteriocin-like compounds or other non-acidic metabolites. In the strains tested, L. sakei MG4013 gave the best results because of its wide range of antimicrobial activity and absence of hemolytic, gelatinase, proteolytic and lipolytic activities. Goat meat from the Souss-Massa region therefore harbours LAB with biopreservative potential, with potential for use as natural preservatives in traditional meat products or as starter cultures in fermented foods. However, before being used as natural preservatives or starter cultures, they need to be further validated in food matrices. Full article

Contextual Factors Influencing Teachers’ Familiarity with and Perceptions of 4IR Technologies in Nigerian Secondary Schools

Nigerian secondary schools face significant challenges integrating fourth industrial revolution (4IR) technologies. Little is known about how contextual factors influence teachers’ familiarity with these technologies and their perceptions of student engagement, learning outcomes, and instructional efficiency. Using a convergent parallel mixed-methods design, this study examined those factors in public and private secondary schools across one Local Government Area within each of four Nigerian states (Imo, Rivers, Osun, and Kogi). The quantitative component surveyed 189 teachers (92 public, 97 private). The qualitative component interviewed nine teachers and conducted two focus groups with 12 teachers (six in each group). Quantitative findings showed that teachers reported moderate familiarity with most 4IR technologies (grand mean = 3.11) and positive perceptions of their influence on student engagement (grand mean = 3.64) and learning outcomes (grand mean = 3.80). Private school teachers reported significantly higher familiarity with six of seven technologies and more positive perceptions of engagement (p < 0.001) and learning outcomes (p < 0.001) than public school teachers, except for WhatsApp (p = 0.332). Qualitative thematic analysis revealed four themes explaining these differences: (1) structural and infrastructural inequities (electricity, internet, devices) shape technology engagement; (2) teachers sustain integration through personal financial sacrifice and informal peer support; (3) professional development is perceived as contextually disconnected; and (4) technological engagement reflects interactions between generational confidence, pedagogical identity, and school culture. The joint display of quantitative and qualitative findings shows convergence on the conclusion that infrastructure, not teacher attitude, is the main barrier to 4IR adoption. Policymakers should prioritise investment in electricity, internet, and devices over blaming teachers. Full article

Separation sciences in Türkiye have evolved from early laboratory-based instruction into a robust, multidisciplinary field integral to analytical chemistry. The foundational roots were established before the Ottoman period and were further strengthened with the integration of chemistry into medical, pharmacy, military, and technical curricula. Following the inception of Darülfünun, the first European-style higher education institution and subsequent Republican-era academic reforms, chemistry emerged as an independent discipline supported by specialized institutes and training programs. Collaborative efforts by Turkish and foreign scientists fostered a rigorous laboratory culture, laying the groundwork for modern analytical practices. Since the mid-twentieth century, advanced sample preparation, chromatographic, electrophoretic, and mass spectrometry-based methods have become pivotal across Turkish research centers. Today, these methodologies drive critical applications in environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis, food safety, toxicology, forensic science, and industrial quality control. Reflecting this sustained growth and rising international prominence, Türkiye was formally admitted to the Central European Group of Separation Sciences at the 29th International Symposium on Separation Sciences in Belgrade, Serbia, in September 2025. This article provides a comprehensive historical overview of separation sciences in Türkiye, highlighting institutional evolution, major scientific contributors, and the contemporary research directions shaping the field’s future.
