Background/Objectives: Comprehensive knowledge of body composition and bone status across the lifespan is critical for clinical evaluation and public health initiatives. This study aimed to develop age- and sex-specific reference curves for body composition and bone status in a physically active Greek population aged 18–80 using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). A secondary objective was to examine age- and sex-related trends in fat distribution, lean mass (LM), and bone status. Methods: A cross-sectional analysis was conducted on 637 participants (275 men and 362 women). Physical activity was assessed through structured interviews evaluating type, frequency, and intensity, categorized using established guidelines from organizations such as the American Heart Association and World Health Organization. Anthropometric data and DXA scans were utilized to measure parameters including fat mass (FM), LM, and BMD. Participants were stratified into age categories, and percentile curves were generated using generalized additive models for location, scale, and shape (GAMLSS). Results: Among women, body mass increased by 20.9% and body fat percentage rose by 38.3% from the youngest to the oldest age group, accompanied by a 5.7% reduction in bone mineral density (BMD) and an 11.5% decline in bone mineral content (BMC). Men exhibited a 49.1% increase in body fat percentage, with LM remaining stable across age groups. In men, BMD decreased by 1.7%, while BMC showed minimal variation. Notable sex differences were observed in fat redistribution, with android fat (AF) increasing significantly in older individuals, particularly among women, highlighting distinct age-related patterns. Conclusions: This study provides essential reference data on body composition and bone status, emphasizing the need for tailored interventions to address sex- and age-related changes, particularly in fat distribution and bone density, to support improved health outcomes in aging populations. Objective: To evaluate the impact of the menopausal transition on body composition across different body mass categories and to identify menopause-related changes in lean and fat tissue distribution. Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study included 325 women whose clinical and body composition data were extracted from existing records. Participants were classified as premenopausal (controls), perimenopausal, or postmenopausal and further stratified by body mass index (BMI) into normal-weight, overweight, and obesity groups. Body composition had been assessed using bioelectrical impedance analysis. Results: Across all BMI categories, postmenopausal women demonstrated significantly lower lean body mass, soft lean mass, skeletal muscle mass, total body water, protein, and mineral content compared with premenopausal and perimenopausal women (p < 0.05). Total and visceral fat area (VFA), body fat percentage (BF), and waist-to-hip ratio were significantly higher, indicating a shift toward central adiposity. These changes were most pronounced in normal-weight women (VFA: 36.4 ± 17.0, 48.3 ± 22.3, and 55.7 ± 23.5 cm2; BF: 24.8 ± 5.3%, 27.2 ± 5.2%, and 28.8 ± 4.6% in pre-, peri-, and postmenopause, respectively), and less marked among overweight women (VFA: 91.5 ± 36.3, 106.1 ± 38.2, and 111.7 ± 28.6 cm2; BF: 36.0 ± 3.6%, 36.4 ± 3.9%, and 37.2 ± 3.2%) and with obesity (VFA: 180.3 ± 62.4, 212.6 ± 96.2, and 175.5 ± 54.4 cm2; BF: 44.5 ± 4.5%, 44.5 ± 5.7%, and 41.9 ± 3.3%), suggesting a relative attenuation of muscle loss at higher BMI. Conclusions: Postmenopausal women showed a clear shift toward lower lean mass and greater central adiposity across BMI categories. These patterns indicate a consistent deterioration in body composition during the menopausal transition. Assessment of visceral fat in postmenopausal women is crucial, as its accumulation is closely linked to cardiometabolic risk. Menopause-related hormonal changes favor central adiposity, supporting the use of visceral fat as a key indicator for early risk stratification and preventive interventions in midlife women. The consumption of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) in adolescence is high due to their widespread availability and accessibility and has been linked to increased cardiometabolic risk. In the Autonomous City of Melilla, an environment with particular cultural and religious characteristics, it is relevant to analyze the relationship of UPFs with metabolic markers of type 2 diabetes mellitus. This is a cross-sectional pilot study on 31 Muslim adolescents aged 15 to 17 years. The NOVA food classification was used to identify UPFs. The final sample comprised Muslim adolescents because written consent for venous blood sampling was obtained only from Muslim families/legal guardians. Separate multiple linear regression models adjusted for sex were fitted to examine the associations between UPF intake (%E/day) and each cardiometabolic and inflammatory marker. Higher UPF intake was positively associated with BMI, body fat percentage, waist circumference, waist-to-height indicator (ICA), and fasting glucose after controlling for the false discovery rate (q < 0.05). Regarding the inflammatory component, Muslim girls had elevated levels of IL-7, IL-10, and IL-13, and Muslim boys had higher levels of MIP-1β. In addition, IL-8 correlated positively with waist circumference, BMI, and the HDL/LDL ratio, while MCP-1 was negatively associated with Apo A1, total cholesterol, and HDL. In this exploratory pilot study, higher intake of UPF appears to be associated with greater central adiposity and higher fasting glucose; these hypothesis-generating findings warrant confirmation in larger, representative samples and may inform culturally adapted nutritional screening in Melilla. Background: CKDB-322, a combination of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum Q180 and Phaeodactylum tricornutum, has shown anti-obesity potential in preclinical models, although human evidence is still limited. This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 12-week trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of CKDB-322 in overweight adults. Methods: Participants were aged 19–65 years; had a body mass index (BMI) of 25–30 kg/m2, and a waist circumference of ≥90 cm for men or ≥85 cm for women. They were randomly assigned to receive either CKDB-322, which provided 1.0 × 109 CFU of L. plantarum Q180 and 200 mg of P. tricornutum daily (n = 50), or a placebo (n = 50). Results: CKDB-322 supplementation resulted in statistically significant reductions in body fat mass and body fat percentage, as measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA), compared to the placebo group (p < 0.05). Computed tomography (CT) analyses also revealed significant reductions in abdominal fat area in the CKDB-322 group (p < 0.05). Additional improvements were observed in body weight and anthropometric parameters. Among metabolic biomarkers, serum triglycerides and leptin levels decreased significantly in the CKDB-322 group compared to the placebo. Exploratory microbiome analyses indicated an increase in the relative abundance of Lactobacillus, suggesting potential modulation of the gut–adipose axis. CKDB-322 was well tolerated, with no clinically significant adverse events or laboratory abnormalities. Conclusions: Collectively, CKDB-322 demonstrated a favorable safety profile and produced statistically significant improvements in multiple adiposity-related outcomes, including reductions in body fat mass, abdominal adiposity, and key anthropometric measures, supporting its potential as a functional ingredient for body fat reduction and metabolic health. Background: The anabolic window hypothesis suggests a limited post-exercise period for optimal nutrient uptake and utilization. Prior research indicates that miRNAs in extracellular vesicles (EVs) may regulate post-exercise adaptation by influencing protein synthesis. This study aimed to examine the effects of resistance exercise (RE) on physiological parameters and the expression and function of miRNAs transported in EVs. Methods: Twenty resistance-trained male participants (22 ± 2 years) completed a five-week RE program designed for hypertrophy. They consumed maltodextrin and whey protein based on assigned nutrient timing: immediately post-exercise (AE), three hours post-exercise (AE3), or no intake (CTRL). Body composition and knee extensor strength were assessed. Small EVs were isolated and then validated via three methods. Nanoparticle tracking analysis determined EV concentration and size, followed by pooled miRNA profiling and signaling pathway analysis. Results: Skeletal muscle mass significantly increased in AE (p = 0.001, g = 2) and AE3 (p = 0.028, g = 1), and it was higher in AE compared to CTRL (p = 0.013, η2 = 0.41), while knee extensor strength improved only in AE (p = 0.032, g = 0.9). Body fat percentage significantly decreased in all groups, AE (p = 0.005, g = 1.5), AE3 (p = 0.024, g = 1), and CTRL (p = 0.005, g = 1.7). Vesicle concentration significantly increased in the AE group (p = 0.043, r = 0.7), while it decreased in the CTRL group (p = 0.046, r = 0.8). Distinct miRNA expression profiles emerged post-intervention: 20 miRNAs were upregulated in AE, while 13 in AE3 and 15 in CTRL were downregulated. Conclusions: Nutrient timing influences training adaptation but is not more critical than total macronutrient intake. Changes in EV-transported miRNAs may regulate anabolic processes via the PI3K-AKT-mTOR and FoxO pathways through PTEN regulation. Full article

Background and Objectives: There is a lack of information on the dietary intake of long-term combined oral contraceptive users (COC-users) in relation to their body composition. The aim of the pilot study was to determine the food consumption of young women using COCs for >6 months and its relationship to body composition compared to non-users. Materials and Methods: A total of 45 healthy women (21.8 ± 1.7 years) were divided into COC non-users (n = 19) and users of a low (≤20 μg) ethinylestradiol (EE) dose (n = 18) and a medium (30–35 μg) EE dose (n = 8). Anthropometric data, body composition, physical activity levels, three-consecutive-days of dietary records, and serum concentrations of calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D were assessed. Statistical methods included chi-squared, Fisher’s exact test, t-test, Mann–Whitney U test, Spearman’s correlation, and multiple linear regression. Results: There were no differences between COC-users and non-users in terms of physical activity, intake of micronutrients, body mass index, body fat percentage (BF%), or bone mineral density (BMD). COC-users consumed a higher percentage of energy from fats (p = 0.02) and had higher serum vitamin D levels (p < 0.01). BF% was negatively associated with BMD (coefficient −0.008; p = 0.027). Conclusions: The use of COCs for ˃6 months is not associated with FM or BMD, regardless of dietary differences. Further attention should be paid to possible associations between COCs use, dietary habits, and body composition (including BMD). Full article

The purpose was to characterize and compare biomechanical and coordinative parameters at maximum velocity between swimmers with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities and examine these in relation to their anthropometrics. Nine swimmers (four with Down syndrome and five with intellectual disabilities) performed three bouts of 25 m crawl stroke, each at maximum velocity, which were recorded with the Qualysis motion analysis system. Anthropometric variables, BMI, and percentage of body fat were also assessed. Swimmers with Down syndrome presented a smaller height, acromion height, sitting height, arm span, hand length, hand width, foot length, foot width, and velocity than swimmers with intellectual disabilities. Swimmers with Down syndrome have disadvantageous anthropometrics and slower swimming velocities compared to swimmers with intellectual disabilities. Those swimmers also appear to present distinctive coordination (catch-up for Down syndrome and superposition for intellectual disabilities) and intracyclic velocity variation (Down syndrome presented higher values) compared to swimmers with intellectual disabilities, suggesting a lower swimming efficiency. Sarcopenia is highly prevalent among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and chronic heart failure (CHF), yet the underlying immunometabolic mechanisms remain insufficiently understood. Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), inflammatory cytokines, and body-composition alterations may jointly contribute to the development of muscle dysfunction in this population. In this cross-sectional study, 80 patients with CKD and CHF underwent comprehensive clinical, biochemical, bioimpedance, inflammatory, and SCFA profiling. Sarcopenia was diagnosed according to EWGSOP2 criteria. Multivariable logistic regression, LASSO feature selection, correlation analysis, PCA, and Random Forest modeling were used to identify key determinants of sarcopenia. Sarcopenia was present in 39 (49%) participants. Patients with sarcopenia exhibited significantly lower body fat percentage, reduced ASM, and slower gait speed. Hexanoic acid (C6) showed an independent positive association with sarcopenia (OR = 2.24, 95% CI: 1.08–5.37), while IL-8 showed an inverse association with sarcopenia (OR = 0.38, 95% CI: 0.13–0.94), indicating that lower IL-8 levels were more frequently observed in individuals with sarcopenia. Correlation heatmaps revealed distinct SCFA–cytokine coupling patterns depending on sarcopenia status, with stronger pro-inflammatory clustering in C6-associated networks. The final multivariable model integrating SCFAs, cytokines, and body-composition metrics achieved excellent discrimination (AUC = 0.911) and good calibration. Sarcopenia in CKD–CHF patients represents a systemic immunometabolic disorder characterized by altered body composition, chronic inflammation, and dysregulated SCFA signaling. Hexanoic acid (C6) and IL-8 may serve as informative biomarkers of muscle decline. These findings support the use of multidimensional assessment and highlight potential targets for personalized nutritional, microbiota-modulating, and rehabilitative interventions. Full article

Background/Objectives: There is no definitive consensus regarding the effects of melatonin on cardiometabolic risk factors (CMRFs). This systematic review and dose–response meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluated the impacts of melatonin supplementation on CMRFs, including anthropometric, lipid, glycemic, inflammatory, oxidative, and liver function parameters. Methods: A systematic search across multiple databases retrieved 63 eligible RCTs published up to October 2025. Results: This random-effects meta-analysis indicated that melatonin supplementation significantly reduced hip circumference (weighted mean difference (WMD): −1.18 cm, 95% confidence interval (CI): −2.28, −0.08), systolic blood pressure (WMD: −2.34 mmHg, 95% CI: −4.13, −0.55), fasting blood glucose (WMD: −11.63 mg/dL, 95% CI: −19.16, −4.10), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (WMD: −6.28 mg/dL, 95% CI: −10.53, −2.03), total cholesterol (WMD: −6.97 mg/dL, 95% CI: −12.20, −1.74), C-reactive protein (WMD: −0.59 mg/L, 95% CI: −0.94, −0.23), malondialdehyde (WMD: −1.54 μmol/L, 95% CI: −2.07, −1.01), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (WMD: −1.61 pg/mL, 95% CI: −2.31, −0.90), interleukin-6 (WMD: −6.43 pg/mL, 95% CI: −10.72, −2.15), and alanine aminotransferase (WMD: −2.61 IU/L, 95% CI: −4.87, −0.34). Supplementation with melatonin substantially increased serum total antioxidant capacity (WMD: 0.15 mmol/L, 95% CI: 0.08, 0.22) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (WMD: 2.04 mg/dL, 95% CI: 0.50, 3.57). No significant effects of melatonin were observed on body weight, waist circumference, body fat percentage, body mass index, fasting insulin, homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance, hemoglobin A1c, triglycerides, diastolic blood pressure, aspartate aminotransferase, or gamma-glutamyl transferase. Conclusions: Melatonin supplementation significantly ameliorated multiple CMRFs. Full article

Aims: To determine body physique and body fat percentage in elite athletes using the Hattori chart and to identify the elite zone. Methods: Scoping review. Results: Using indirect methods, elite athletes showed intermediate solid body physique (male) and lean intermediate body physique (female), and 13.6% ± 3.6% (male) and 22.3% ± 2.8 (female) body fat. Using doubly indirect methods, elite athletes showed lean intermediate body physique (male), and intermediate body physique (female), and a percentage of body fat of 13.7% ± 5.2% (male) and of 21.7% ± 4.3% (female) of body fat. Conclusions: Hattori’s chart facilitates the visualization of changes in body mass index, fat-free mass index, fat mass index, and percentage of body fat, helping personalize training, monitor composition changes, and guide nutrition programs to optimize performance and health. Background/Objectives: The Adhera® Caring Digital Program (ACDP) is a digitally delivered intervention aimed at enhancing the mental and physical well-being of family caregivers of children with chronic conditions. Tailored for the context of childhood obesity, ACDP leverages the Adhera AI Precision Digital Companion to support caregivers in promoting effective treatment adherence and healthy behaviors at home. While children in this study received GLP-1 receptor agonist treatment as part of their obesity management, the ACDP was designed to empower caregivers through educational, behavioral, and emotional support tools. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between engagement with the ACDP as a DHI and clinical outcomes in participants receiving GLP-1 receptor agonist treatment for obesity. Methods: This study analyzed data from approximately 40 pediatric patients receiving GLP-1-based pharmacological treatment for obesity and their caregivers enrolled in the ACDP. Caregiver engagement was assessed through a composite score derived from digital activity metrics and classified as low, medium, or high. Children’s clinical parameters (BMI, weight, fat mass %, muscle mass %, and waist circumference) were collected at baseline and Day 150. Biometric, physical activity, and sleep data were also collected through a wearable device, enabling continuous and objective monitoring of participants’ physiological and behavioral patterns in real-world conditions. Statistical analyses included paired comparisons, Pearson correlations, and group comparisons by engagement level. Results: Data from 40 pediatric participants and their caregivers were analyzed over 150 days. Observed changes over the time in children showed a reduction in waist circumference (−6.0%, p = 0.0056) and a modest decrease in BMI. Higher levels of caregiver engagement with the Adhera® Caring Digital Program correlated with reduction in body fat (ΔFat% r ≈ 0.5, p = 0.091) representing the strongest correlation observed in the study, albeit not reaching statistical significance. From baseline to Day 150, significant improvements were observed across all clinical outcomes, including reductions in BMI (−4.51 kg/m2), body weight (−11.42 kg), body fat percentage (−5.63%), and waist circumference (−8.69 cm), alongside an increase in muscle mass (+4.47%) (all p < 0.0001). Conclusions: At the mid-point of the intervention, combined GLP-1 pharmacotherapy and the Adhera® Caring Digital Program led to meaningful improvements in BMI, adiposity, and central obesity. While caregiver engagement was not significantly associated with short-term outcomes, observed trends suggest that digital support may provide complementary benefits to pharmacological treatment, warranting further evaluation at Day 300. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), particularly exosomes, are key mediators of intercellular communication, transporting biomolecules such as nucleic acids, lipids, and proteins that influence immune and metabolic pathways. In adipose tissue (AT), adipocyte-derived EVs (AdEVs) play a crucial role in maintaining metabolic homeostasis and have been implicated in obesity-related dysfunction. Among their bioactive cargo, microRNAs regulate post-transcriptional gene expression and participate in immunometabolic regulation. This study aimed to determine whether miR-34a expression in serum and circulating EVs varies according to body fat percentage, to explore its potential utility as a non-invasive biomarker of AT dysfunction. A total of 142 adults (mean age 36 ± 11 years) were classified by body fat percentage (≥25% in men, ≥35% in women). Exosomes were isolated (Invitrogen®) and characterized by cryo-TEM, and miR-34a expression was quantified by qRT-PCR. miR-34a expression correlated negatively with Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDLc/HDLc, TG/HDLc, BMI, C3, CRP, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, HOMA-B, Body adiposity, Chemerin, CCL2, AdipoQT, and AdipoQ-H, but positively with HDLc and QUICKI. Notably, LDLc, sdLDLc, sdLDLc/LDLc, TC/HDLc, and fasting glucose showed opposite correlation patterns between serum and exosomes. Overall, serum miR-34a levels were higher than in exosomes, suggesting its potential as a biomarker of metabolic dysfunction and insulin resistance. Full article

Background: Sarcopenia is a progressive skeletal muscle disorder associated with adverse outcomes. Although the association between sarcopenia and quality of life (QoL) has been discussed, the specific relationship between different stages of sarcopenia severity—particularly distinguishing between muscle mass loss and functional impairment—and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) remains unclear. Method: This cross-sectional study enrolled 100 elderly participants from a geriatric outpatient clinic. Participants were categorized into four groups (normal, possible sarcopenia, sarcopenia and severe sarcopenia) based on the 2019 Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) criteria. HRQoL was assessed using the Short-Form 36-Item (SF-36) questionnaire. Result: The severe sarcopenia group was significantly older and had lower calf circumference compared to the normal group. Notably, the possible sarcopenia group presented with the highest body mass index and body fat percentage, resembling a “dynapenic obesity” phenotype. In terms of QoL, participants with confirmed sarcopenia did not exhibit significant differences compared to the normal group. However, the severe sarcopenia group demonstrated significantly lower scores across almost all SF-36 domains compared to the normal group. Multivariate linear regression analysis revealed that severe sarcopenia was independently and significantly negatively associated with multiple QoL domains, including physical functioning, general health and vitality. Additionally, age, social activity and body fat were identified as independent correlates of specific QoL domains. Conclusions: Our findings suggest a non-linear relationship between sarcopenia and HRQoL. A comprehensive decline in HRQoL is strongly linked to the severity of sarcopenia (functional impairment) rather than the diagnosis of muscle mass loss alone. These results highlight the clinical importance of preserving physical performance and suggest that categorizing different severities of sarcopenia and stage-specific management strategies are necessary to improve quality of life in older adults. Background and Objectives: Dichrostachys glomerata and Cissus quadrangularis, two species traditionally used in Cameroon, are recognized for their weight-reducing potential. This study examined the effects of standardized extracts of these botanicals on glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), and key metabolic outcomes in individuals with excess body weight. Materials and Methods: In this 16-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 248 adults (126 women and 122 men; mean age 41.3 ± 0.3 years; BMI 25–34.9 kg/m2) were assigned to receive 400 mg D. glomerata extract (DGE), 300 mg C. quadrangularis extract (CQE), semaglutide (dose-escalated from 3 mg to 14 mg), or placebo, administered once daily. These are all standard clinical regimens. Primary assessments included changes in GLP-1 levels and DPP-4 activity. Secondary evaluations included body composition, caloric intake, satiety response, fasting glucose levels, and lipid profiles. Results: Participants receiving DGE or CQE displayed notable elevations in circulating GLP-1 (+38.6 pg/mL and +42.2 pg/mL, respectively; p < 0.01) and significant reductions in DPP-4 activity (−15.3% and −17.8%; p < 0.01) compared with placebo. Both extracts produced substantial improvements in body weight (−5.2% and −5.8%), body fat (−10.3% and −10.9%), energy intake (−16.2% and −17.5%), and satiety (+25.6% and +27.4%) (p < 0.01). Significant changes in fasting glucose and serum lipid levels were also observed (p < 0.05). These responses are comparable to those of semaglutide. Moreover, GLP-1 increments showed strong negative correlations with body fat percentage (r = −0.91 to −0.92; p < 0.001) and DPP-4 activity (r = −0.97 to −0.98; p < 0.001). Conclusions: Supplementation with D. glomerata and C. quadrangularis extracts enhanced GLP-1 secretion and reduced DPP-4 activity, yielding significant benefits for body composition and metabolic parameters. These findings indicate that both botanicals are promising natural agents for managing obesity through incretin-based mechanisms. Full article

Impact of School-Based Physical Activity Intervention on Obesity and Physical Parameters in Children: A Systematic Review

Background: Childhood obesity continues to pose a major global health challenge, and schools offer a structured and scalable setting for implementing physical activity programs. However, the effectiveness of these interventions remains inconsistent. This systematic review synthesizes evidence from school-based physical activity interventions and evaluates their impact on obesity-related parameters, physical activity levels, physical fitness, and cardiorespiratory fitness among children. Methods: A comprehensive search of PubMed, Scopus, and the Cochrane Library identified randomized controlled trials published between January 2015 and March 2025. Eligible studies included children aged 5–18 years and assessed school-based physical activity interventions. Outcomes included BMI, body fat percentage, physical activity levels (including MVPA), physical fitness, and cardiorespiratory fitness. Due to methodological heterogeneity, a narrative synthesis was conducted. Results: A total of 28 studies met inclusion criteria. Among the 16 studies reporting obesity-related outcomes, 7 demonstrated statistically significant improvements in BMI or BMI z-scores, while 6 of 16 (37.5%) showed no measurable effect. Reductions in body fat percentage were more consistently observed (5 of 6 studies). Both short-term (<6 months) and long-term (>12 months) interventions showed comparable proportions of studies with statistically significant BMI improvements (~50%). For physical activity outcomes, 5 of 11 studies reported increased MVPA, whereas others showed no significant change. Sedentary behavior outcomes were mixed, with only 2 of 6 studies demonstrating significant reductions. Improvements in physical fitness were reported in two-thirds of studies, while cardiorespiratory fitness improvements were inconsistent, with significant gains observed primarily in higher-intensity or well-structured programs. Across outcomes, several findings were statistically significant but modest in clinical magnitude. Conclusions: School-based physical activity interventions have the potential to improve select obesity-related parameters, particularly body fat percentage and BMI in a subset of studies. However, effects on MVPA, sedentary time, overall activity levels, and cardiorespiratory fitness remain variable. The effectiveness of these programs appears influenced by intervention structure, intensity, and adherence rather than duration alone. Future interventions should incorporate tailored, multi-component approaches to enhance both clinical relevance and long-term sustainability. While several effects were statistically significant, most were modest in magnitude. However, even modest improvements in BMI z-score, body fat percentage, and fitness can be meaningful at a population level, particularly when delivered through universal, scalable school platforms that reach large numbers of children.
