MDPI Announces the Inaugural Issue of Viruses

MDPI is pleased to announce that the inaugural issue of Viruses (ISSN 1999-4915), a new open access journal of virology, has been published online at https://www.mdpi.com/1999-4915/1/1/ under the leadership of Dr. Eric Freed, Chief of the Virus-Cell Interaction Section, HIV Drug Resistance Program, National Cancer Institute, Frederick National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA.

Viruses published in its inaugural issue the first article on the pandemic of influenza A (H1N1) in the USA, detailing the subtyping of the influenza virus, the development of specific detection and the confirmation of a large outbreak of S-OIV in southeastern Wisconsin, USA.
