
Welcoming New Editorial Board Member of Diversity—Dr. Carlos Jimenez
We are pleased to announce that a new scholar has been appointed Editorial Board Member (EBM) for Diversity (ISSN 1424-2818), effective December 2025. We wish our new member success in both his research and his efforts to develop the journal.

Interests: deep-water corals; tropical corals; coral-associated diversity; coralligenous habitats; dark-habitats; marine caves; marine mass-mortality events; marine invasive species
Dr. Carlos Jimenez is a marine biologist collaborating as Research Director at Enalia Physis Environmental Research Centre. He has a PhD degree in natural sciences (marine ecosystems). Since the 80s, Dr. Jimenez’s interest has focused on coral reefs ecology under extreme environmental conditions and anthropogenic activities. Since 2010, he has been consolidating in Cyprus the research of shallow and deep-water corals, coralligenous and non-indigenous species. More recently, he is conducting studies of epibenthic communities in dark habitats, such as in shallow and deep-water marine caves and modern and ancient shipwrecks.
