Prof. Dr. Michael J. Sharkey Appointed Section Editor-in-Chief of Section “Insect Systematics, Phylogeny and Evolution” in Insects

Insects (ISSN: 2075-4450) is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Dr. Michael J. Sharkey (University of Kentucky, USA) as Section Editor-in-Chief (SEiC) of the “Insect Systematics, Phylogeny and Evolution” Section. Prof. Dr. Sharkey has been a member of the Biology Editorial Board since 2021 and brings extensive editorial experience across various areas, including insect diversity and evolution and related disciplines.

Prof. Dr. Sharkey is an Emeritus Professor at the Department of Entomology, the University of Kentucky. His research centers on insect diversity and evolution, with a strong focus on taxonomy and phylogenetic analysis.

In his role as SEiC, Prof. Dr. Sharkey will work with the Editorial Office and Academic Editors to support the publication of high-quality submissions and further strengthen the “Insect Systematics, Phylogeny and Evolution” Section as an open forum for fundamental and translational research.
