Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The efficient management of water resources is a critical challenge, particularly in arid and semi-arid regions. Precision irrigation relies heavily on the accurate prediction of soil water dynamics and infiltration processes to optimize water application and minimize losses. This Special Issue aims to gather cutting-edge research on the simulation of soil water movement and the development of advanced infiltration models, aiming to enhance precision irrigation management.

We invite submissions that focus on the physical mechanisms governing soil infiltration, the numerical simulation of water flow in the vadose zone, and the construction of robust hydrological models. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the parameterization of soil hydraulic properties, the validation of infiltration models (such as Green-Ampt, Philip, or numerical solutions) under various field conditions, and the integration of these models with remote sensing or IoT technologies for real-time irrigation scheduling. We also welcome studies on the impact of soil structure and land management practices on water infiltration efficiency.

This collection seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical hydrology and practical agricultural engineering. We encourage researchers to submit original research articles and comprehensive reviews that contribute to a deeper understanding of soil moisture simulation and its application in developing sustainable irrigation strategies.
