Dear Colleagues,
HTLV-1 infection causes a variety of health problems. Unlike acute viral infections, the health complications caused by HTLV-1 infection are rooted in long-term latent infection. Therefore, HTLV-1 infection must be treated as a chronic viral infection, requiring research and appropriate medical and public health responses. From this perspective, prevention of viral infection, risk assessment for disease onset, and prevention of disease onset along with early therapeutic intervention are crucial. With this in mind, we aim to present a Special Issue that provides an understanding of the current state of research and future prospectives.

Viruses is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
