International Virus Bioinformatics Meeting 2020

It is our pleasure to invite you to the upcoming International Virus Bioinformatics Meeting 2020 taking place from 08–09 March 2020 at Eventforum in Bern, Switzerland. This unique conference will offer a great possibility to exchange the latest research results and experiences to an extensive network of leading experts in virology and bioinformatics and engage in inspiring discussions. We welcome any contributions within this cross-disciplinary field. Sub-topics include (but are not limited to): Systems virology; virus-host interactions; virus classification and evolution; epidemiology and surveillance; viral metagenomics and ecology; as well as clinical bioinformatics.

IVBM 2020 is jointly organized by the European Virus Bioinformatics Center, the University of Bern and the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics. With the increasing interest and ongoing improvement of our annual meeting, we decided to detach the name of the meeting from the name of the EVBC. The concept, however, will remain the same.

In parallel to IVBM 2020, we will run a special issue on Virus Bioinformatics in Viruses. The special issue will present articles covering computational approaches in virology. We welcome any contribution at the boundary between bioinformatics and virology. Papers are welcome as original research articles, as well as review papers dealing with recent advancements andcurrent understanding of computational technology aspects of virology.

We look forward to welcoming old faces and new colleagues who share our excitement for computational virology!
