Innovative Research on Battery Materials and Their Applications

This special issue belongs to the section “Energy Sustainability“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, the field of battery technologies, which power modern devices and systems, has seen significant advancements, and this is mainly due to the innovative research conducted on the materials involved. Particularly, the development of new materials is crucial for the progress towards next-gen batteries that can successfully power a wide range of devices including electronics, electric vehicles, power tools, renewable energy storage solutions, etc. Besides performance, the ecological aspects are carefully considered and environmentally friendly materials are being proposed to reduce the ecological impact of battery production and disposal. “Innovative Research on Battery Materials and Their Applications” aims to highlight original studies in the field of battery materials (e.g., anode, cathode, electrolyte, etc.) for different technologies including Li-ion, Na-ion, K-ion, solid-state, flow batteries, etc.,  This Special Issue focuses on the following topics:

  1. Sustainable Materials for Next-Generation Batteries;
  2. Innovative Anode/Cathode Materials for Enhanced Batteries;
  3. Rechargeable Alkali-Ion Battery Materials;
  4. Battery Materials for Electric Vehicles and Renewable Energy Storage;
  5. Sustainable Electrolytes for Safer and More Efficient Batteries;
  6. Solid-State Batteries: Challenges and Advancements;
  7. Recycling and Reuse of Battery Materials;
  8. Flow Batteries in Renewable Energy Storage.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
