Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

It is well known that the comprehensive green and low-carbon transformation of economic and social development are the key factors to promote the construction of an ecological civilization and achieve the "double carbon" goal.

Some corresponding sustainable measures should be implemented, for example, strengthening the legal and policy guarantee of green development; giving full play to the support of green finance for the low-carbon transformation of various industries; and promoting clean production and the green low-carbon transformation of key industries and important fields. Low-carbon economics and trade are very important to the sustainable development of medium-sized urban agglomeration. However, low-carbon economics and trade for the sustainable development of medium-sized urban agglomeration are still a serious challenge to scientists and academic investigators.

This Special Issue is dedicated to the most recent advances in the research of low-carbon economics and trade and the sustainable development of medium-sized urban agglomeration. We invite scientists and investigators to contribute original research and review articles, which address the topics of the issue.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Low-carbon assessment based on life-cycle theory;
  • The strategy of low-carbon economics based on life-cycle theory;
  • The sustainable development model and its implementation methods;
  • A low-carbon trade model based on the synergetic implementation of benefits;
  • Urban development sustainability assessment based on multiple perspectives;
  • The sustainable management and technology of urban garbage under the goal of "carbon neutrality";
  • The sustainable management and development of colleges and universities;
  • The theory of sustainable management in the relationship between economy and environment;
  • The carbon footprint evolution of economic behavior in medium-sized urban agglomeration;
  • The development and management of the low-carbon economic and trade system;
  • Complex systems modeling and simulation of/in urban agglomeration.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
