Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Education-sustainable development, also called sustainable education, refers to the situation in which the education system satisfies current requirements without compromising the opportunities and rights of future generations. It emphasizes the fairness, inclusiveness and long-term nature of education, as well as focuses on the rational allocation and utilization of educational resources. Also, it requires the teaching model to bring sustainable development awareness and capabilities.Today, with the widely use of digital and intelligent tools and methods, novel questions have arisen in the next generation of sustainable education. For example, can resource allocation with AI enhance educational equity? How can integration with AI and digitalization effectively enhance educational quality? What kind of talents should be cultivated in the next generation of education? How will the next generation's campus operate? How can more reasonable educational monitoring and evaluation be conducted through digital technology? These issues all remain to be explored. Thus, this Special Issue is proposed to find novel theories, methods and applications to apply AI and digital tools into education, which can enhance educational sustainability. It includes resource allocation, educational model, teacher/student training, educational environment and cooperation. High quality surveys or reviews in this domain are also welcome. In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  1. Significance of educational sustainable development with digitalization and AI (survey and review)
  2. Resource allocation and guarantee of fairness with digitalization and AI
  3. Innovative educational models with digitalization and AI for comprehensive qualities
  4. Improvement of educational training with digitalization and AI
  5. Friendly educational environment and green campuses with digitalization and AI
  6. Continuous educational improvement with AI based monitoring and evaluation
  7. Common educational development through cooperation and exchanges with AI
