Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue, ‘Nature-Based Tourism and Outdoor Recreation in the Context of Sustainability’, will focus on the growing importance of tourism and recreation based on nature in the context of sustainable development. Our goal is to provide in-depth reflections on how to combine the experience of nature with responsible environmental management, biodiversity protection, the well-being of local communities, and the promotion of responsible attitudes among tourists. This Special Issue will cover topics such as the impacts of recreation on natural ecosystems, the impacts of nature-based tourism development on local community development, the pro-environmental behaviors of tourists, environmental education, and the use of tools for measuring and monitoring sustainable development. This Special Issue will focus on research on the impacts that tourism has on the natural environment using social, economic, and technological perspectives.
The articles published in this Special Issue will contribute to a better understanding of how nature-based tourism can support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by balancing human needs, nature conservation, and responsible resource management.
