Empowering Academic Growth with MDPI Academic Publishing Workshop at Thaksin University, 8 July 2026


We are delighted to announce the MDPI Academic Publishing Workshop, organized in partnership with the Institution of Research and Innovation, Thaksin University, Songkhla. This event reflects a shared commitment to advancing academic research through open access publishing, cross-sector collaboration, and innovative scholarly communication.

As part of our ongoing dedication to researcher development, the workshop aims to improve academic writing skills, facilitate scholarly communication, and guide authors in selecting appropriate journals for submission. Designed especially for young researchers, PhD and master’s students, and potential researchers, the workshop will provide practical skills to enhance the visibility and impact of scholarly work while fostering meaningful connections with MDPI journal editors and publishing professionals.

Chair:  
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samak Kaewsuksaeng is the Vice President for Research and Innovation at Thaksin University, Thailand. He obtained his PhD in postharvest technology from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. With extensive experience in research management, he has served as Acting Deputy Director of the Research and Development Institute at Thaksin University (2019–2022), Director in 2022, and currently holds the position of Acting Director. His research expertise focuses on postharvest handling systems of fruits and vegetables, plant pigments, protein purification in plants, and the physiology and biochemistry of fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants after harvesting.
MDPI Speakers:  
Ms. Ploy Assavajamroon obtained her master’s degree in chemistry from Thammasat University, Thailand, in 2020 and joined MDPI as an Assistant Editor for the journal Crystals in the same year. She became a Section Managing Editor in 2021 and a Group Leader in 2022. She is currently one of MDPI’s Regional Engagement Editors for the Asia–Pacific region.
Dr. Juthathip Poofery holds a PhD in biochemistry from the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. She joined MDPI in 2021 as an Assistant Editor for Medicina and was promoted to Section Managing Editor in 2022. Since 2023, Dr. Poofery has served as the Editorial Team Leader of the Medical Sciences Section, overseeing editorial operations and supporting the advancement of research in the medical sciences. She currently works as a Regional Engagement Editor for the Asia–Pacific region.
Ms. Chatchanok Boonsanong graduated from Prince of Songkla University in biology and has been with MDPI since November 2022. She brings a strong and well-rounded production background, currently serving as a Final Checker, Cross Checker, LaTeX Editor, Quality Checker, and Website Editor. Thanks to her extensive hands-on experience across these key production roles, Chatchanok has also taken on the responsibility of a production tutor, training and guiding many new employees.
Ms. Hathaipat Kittirojana obtained her master’s degree in food science and biotechnology from Teesside University. She joined MDPI in December 2020 as an Assistant Editor for the Journal of Imaging. She was appointed as a Section Managing Editor in March 2023 and a Regional Engagement Editor for the Asia–Pacific region in July 2024.
Dr. Siriporn Tantiwatcharothai obtained her PhD in applied chemistry from the Faculty of Science, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. She joined MDPI in December 2022 as an Assistant Editor for Catalysts. In 2024, she was promoted to Section Managing Editor, and served as a Chief Section Managing Editor in April 2025. Currently, she is one of MDPI's Regional Engagement Editors for the Asia–Pacific region.
