Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The high technological growth, penetration, and dependency on smart technology is the wider truth of the current era. This growth leads to smart homes, offices, places, and finally smart cities, where a complete connectivity model is active using the main Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Smart cities bring smartness in ease of use, access, and control around the clock. The smart cities concept is playing a vital role in the economic growth of cities, as well as better control and management of cities. However, security and privacy concerns are the other side of the coin and the major challenge in the growth of smart cities. Data 24/7 availability online attracts more cyber hackers. Thus, cybersecurity will be the highest concern of the future.
Personal data privacy and security are the key requirement for the success of smart cities. Cyber threats are increasing with time and becoming a major challenge around the globe. The governments in most countries are seriously considering smart cities and IoT security and privacy issues, to protect their citizens from intruders. Cybersecurity is the major concern for smart cities, and this issue would not be easy to handle. In this Special Issue, innovative research papers addressing classical challenges, new challenges, issues, and possible solutions of cybersecurity in smart cities are especially welcome.
