Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Mineral processing plays a vital role in resource development and utilization. As global attention to sustainable development and environmental protection continues to grow, the high energy consumption and pollution associated with traditional flotation technologies have become increasingly prominent, posing serious challenges to the environment and sustainable development. Green flotation technology, representing a new generation of mineral separation techniques, provides effective solutions through innovative reagent design, optimized processes, and the integration of intelligent technologies. This Special Issue focuses on the latest research advancements in green flotation technology, aiming to explore its innovative applications in improving mineral recovery rates, reducing environmental impacts, and achieving efficient resource utilization. This Issue will emphasize the development of environmentally friendly flotation reagents, the design of novel flotation processes, the integration of intelligent flotation technologies, and the potential applications of green flotation in complex ore systems. By employing interdisciplinary research approaches, we will demonstrate how to achieve efficient separation while minimizing wastewater discharge, energy consumption, and negative environmental impacts. Scholars and engineers from related fields are invited to submit original research papers to advance the development of green flotation technology and provide scientific and technical support for the sustainable transformation of the mineral processing industry.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

  • Development and application of eco-friendly flotation reagents;
  • Innovative applications of green flotation technology in complex ore dressing;
  • Intelligent and automated flotation processing technologies;
  • Design and optimization of energy-efficient flotation equipment;
  • Assessment and improvement of the environmental impact of green flotation technology;
  • Wastewater treatment and recycling technologies for flotation;
  • Application of green flotation technology in rare metal and non-metal mineral processing;
  • Surface chemical mechanisms and regulation in flotation processes;
  • Case studies of green flotation technology in industrial practice;
  • Research on the connection between flotation technology and sustainable development goals.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Separations is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
