The exponential growth of IoT devices and sensor networks is generating massive volumes of heterogeneous data, driving innovation while complicating interoperability, security, and data sovereignty. To address these challenges, Data Spaces have emerged as a pivotal paradigm. Defined as secure, decentralized digital ecosystems, Data Spaces facilitate the trustworthy sharing and pooling of data across diverse sectors. Unlike traditional models, they employ a federated architecture that enables real-time access and cross-domain integration without requiring centralized ownership. By relying on shared technical standards and governance frameworks, Data Spaces ensure that participants retain full control over their data assets while fostering a scalable environment for collaborative analysis.
This Special Issue focuses on the design, development, and application of Data Spaces within IoT and sensor network architectures. We seek innovative contributions that enhance system efficiency, reliability, and sovereign decision-making. Topics of interest include novel data management strategies, interoperability solutions, and advanced analytics frameworks. We particularly encourage submissions showcasing real-world implementations in industrial IoT, smart cities, healthcare, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. By highlighting architectures that bridge the gap between distributed data sources and actionable insights, this issue aims to advance the performance and security of next-generation sensor ecosystems. It provides a platform for research that bridges sensors, IoT infrastructures, and practical data management frameworks.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
