Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to submit your latest research on "Recent Innovations in Wearable Sensor Systems". The domain of this topic covers the design, development, fabrication, and novel implementation of body-worn sensory systems to extract physiological and behavioral information from humans and all living creatures. This Special Issue will cover all application areas related to physical, chemical, and biosensors, emphasizing biomedical applications and self or ambient monitoring. This issue will cover both original investigations and related comprehensive literature reviews.
Advances in wearable biosensors and sensory technology already significantly impact our daily lives. The analysis of this senor-provided information is currently automated and performed by computer algorithms. An understanding of both sensor design and information processing methodologies is crucial to evaluating biosensors' efficiency and applicability. Studying these methods will make a path for deploying new forefront research and development opportunities.
The aim of this Special Issue is, thus, to focus on discussions and insights into the latest advancements in the development of wearable biosensors; information extraction from these sensors; future perspectives and challenges in this information processing; investigation on the impact of their application in a diversity of real-world problems, such as disease prediction, forecasting, or monitoring the health symptoms.
Original papers describing completed and unpublished work that are not currently under review by any other journal, magazine, or conference are solicited. We invite contributions in the following topics (but are not limited to them):
- Wearable Sensors;
- Monitoring;
- Electrochemical Sensors;
- Sensor signal processing;
- Deep learning;
- Machine learning;
- Computer vision;
- Wireless sensor network;
- Smart health monitoring;
- E-health;
- Edge computing.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue
