Selected Papers from the 1st International Online Conference on Recycling
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The Journal of Recycling is pleased to announce a Special Issue featuring selected papers from the 1st International Online Conference on Recycling (IOCRe 2026), 7th to 8th of September, 2026. This Special Issue will highlight leading research and innovation that contribute to advancing recycling science, technology, resource recovery, and circular economy solutions.
The conference will be structured around several key sessions:
- Advances in Recycling Technologies;
- Circular Economy and Policy Innovations Towards Improved Resource Recovery;
- Plastic and Composite Waste Recycling;
- Metal, Battery, and E-Waste Recycling;
- Challenges and Opportunities in Construction and Demolition Waste.
Participants are invited to submit extended and high-quality versions of their conference papers to this Special Issue. All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review.
To acknowledge outstanding research, one paper published in this Special Issue will receive the Best Paper Award, recognizing excellence and innovation in the field of recycling and circular resource management.
We warmly invite all IOCRe 2026 (https://sciforum.net/event/IOCRe2026?subscribe§ion=#welcome) participants and researchers working in related areas to contribute to this Special Issue and help advance sustainable recycling practices worldwide.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Recycling is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
