Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Oral administration is still the most preferred administration route for patients, and about half of newly approved compounds are dosed orally. The developments within the formulation, manufacturing, modeling, biopharmaceutical understandings, etc., related to oral absorption are still some of the most important fields of research within pharmaceutical sciences in a broader context.

Given the importance of oral drug delivery and also the development of its application for both small molecules and peptides, it is clear that the field is still a very important area with big innovations for the benefit of the patients that we serve. With this background I am very honored and happy to invite the submission of publications to this Special Issue, where we put oral drug delivery in the spotlight. Given the high diversity of the field, we are happy to look at submissions working with oral drug delivery from a very broad perspective, including preformulation studies, novel formulations, the delivery of small and large molecules, biopharmaceutical investigations, and pharmaceutical technological or pharmaceutical engineering studies associated with oral dosage forms, just to mention some topics.

I hope there is support for this initiative and I look forward to reading this interesting Special Issue, which I hope many of you will contribute to.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Pharmaceutics is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2900 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
