Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Radiopharmaceuticals have emerged as a central pillar of precision oncology, offering unique opportunities for the noninvasive interrogation of molecular pathways and the selective treatment of malignancies. Advances in radiochemistry, molecular imaging, radionuclide production, and targeted delivery systems have markedly broadened the diagnostic and therapeutic scope of these agents. In parallel, the development of new targeting vectors, including peptides, antibodies, proteins, nanoparticles, and small molecules, together with theranostic strategies, has accelerated the transition toward more individualized oncologic care, with the dual aim of enhancing efficacy and reducing off-target toxicity.

This Special Issue is intended to showcase the latest advances in radiopharmaceutical research for cancer diagnosis and therapy across fundamental, translational, and clinical domains. Contributions are invited that address the design and optimization of novel radiopharmaceuticals; emerging radionuclides and innovations in radiochemical methodology; theranostic approaches and personalized medicine; targeting strategies based on peptides, antibodies, proteins, nanoparticles, and small molecules; radiopharmaceutical delivery systems and nanomedicine; PET, SPECT, and hybrid imaging technologies; dosimetry, pharmacokinetics, and biodistribution; preclinical evaluation and translational development; clinical applications and trials; artificial intelligence and computational tools in radiopharmaceutical innovation; and safety, toxicity, regulatory considerations, and future directions in nuclear medicine.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Pharmaceutics is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
