Vaccines and Therapeutic Developments
A section of Pathogens (ISSN 2076-0817).
Section Information
This section is open to research on novel and current vaccines, their mechanism of action and efficacy in the face of emerging variants and new pathogens, as well as traditional, natural, and pharmacologic treatment of infections in different species. AI-assisted methodology and identification of new druggable targets, side effects, and allergic reactions to vaccines and therapeutic agents, correlates of protection, and indicators for candidate treatments—endotypes—will also be welcome. New technological advances, developments of immunomodulating therapies, biological agents and adjuvants, and novel delivery systems with regard to veterinary and human medicine represent the core themes of the section, with the ultimate aim to contribute to global health improvement. All types of manuscripts are invited, and topics include (but are not limited to):
- Novel and current vaccine design and technology, genetic design, and chemistry;
- Therapy and vaccine delivery, safety and efficacy assessment, interaction of microbiota with therapeutic for pathogenic agents, basic immunology, and animal models;
- Human and veterinary vaccines for bacterial, fungal, viral, and parasitic diseases;
- Immunotherapeutic developments and technological advances;
- New approaches to therapy and novel, natural, and traditional therapeutic candidates.
As a Section of Pathogens, the manuscripts submitted must pertain to the area of vaccines and therapies for pathogenic agents.
Special topic proposals are strongly encouraged.
