Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are creating a collection of papers that will provide a deeper understanding of the relationship between eating and sleeping disorders and underlying immunological conditions from childhood ownwards. Connections between sleep and eating patterns, as well as possible relationships between autoimmune diseases, endocrinological and psychopathological changes, have long been of interest, and the complexity of these possible reciprocal influences is becoming increasingly clear. In the course of a possible chronification of the above-mentioned conditions, significant long-term, life-determining impairments can occur.

With regard to abnormal eating and sleeping patterns that cooccur with chronic organic diseases, the age-old question of the chicken or the egg often arises. In addition, distinctive developmental stages such as puberty must be acknowledged as sensitive time windows for the development of comorbidities.

We welcome original and review papers, as well as basic research on endocrinological and immunological issues, enabling a translational view of clinical correlations.
