Feature papers represent the most advanced research with significant potential for high impact in the field. A Feature
Paper should be a substantial original Article that involves several techniques or approaches, provides an outlook for
future research directions and describes possible research applications.
Feature papers are submitted upon individual invitation or recommendation by the scientific editors and must receive
positive feedback from the reviewers.
Editor’s Choice articles are based on recommendations by the scientific editors of MDPI journals from around the world.
Editors select a small number of articles recently published in the journal that they believe will be particularly
interesting to readers, or important in the respective research area. The aim is to provide a snapshot of some of the
most exciting work published in the various research areas of the journal.
As Editor-in-Chief of Nutrients, I am pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 Travel Award. The award has been granted to Dr. Gabriela de Oliveira Lemos, who completed her medical degree at the Federal University of Ceará and joined the PhD Program in the Gastroenterology Department (University of Sao Paulo Medical School, Brazil); and Dr. Ariadna Gomez Vilarrubla, a PhD researcher in the Maternal-Fetal Metabolic Research Group at Institut d’Investigació Biomèdica de Girona (IDIBGI), Spain. They are evidently the rising stars in the field, with remarkable records of achievement for young researchers at this stage of their careers, especially in light of the competitive environment of scientific research today. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Gabriela de Oliveira Lemos and Dr. Ariadna Gomez Vilarrubla on their outstanding achievements.
As the awardees, they will each receive an honorarium of CHF 800, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before 31st December 2025 in Nutrients after peer-review, and an electronic certificate.
With so many high-quality applicants, the evaluation process and final decision were challenging. We would like to thank all the applicants for submitting their diverse and fascinating range of research topics. On behalf of the assessment committee, I congratulate the winners on their accomplishments.
Editors-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Maria Luz Fernandez and Prof. Dr. Lluis Serra-Majem, on behalf of the Nutrients 2024 Travel Award Evaluation Committee.
Kind regards, Nutrients Editorial Office
