Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Clinical trials focused on plant-derived medicines are being conducted in China, India, Europe and other places. These trials seek to prove the efficacy, safety and environmental sustainability of plant medicines. The advantage of plant medicines is that the human body has been exposed to them for thousands of years and may have adapted to them. Many of these medicines are useful when therapies are limited by resistance and toxicity problems. However, plant medicines should be tested in clinical trials to prove their purity, efficacy and safety. The chemistry and mechanisms of action underlying these medicines should be reported. They should also be examined for environmental sustainability. Plant species that are uncommon should be grown in farms to make their use sustainable.
