Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Bioinformatics, computational biology, and biostatistics have experienced transformative growth, largely driven by rapid advances in modern mathematical theories, optimization techniques, statistical physics, probabilistic modeling, and rigorous statistical inference. The extraction of meaningful biological and clinical insights from high-throughput omics data—ranging from single-cell and spatial transcriptomics to complex biomolecular networks and electronic health records—requires robust, scalable, and mathematically sound algorithmic frameworks that go well beyond classical statistical paradigms. 

This Special Issue aims to bring together cutting-edge research at the intersection of mathematics, statistics, computer science, and life sciences. We seek high-quality original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and methodological papers that emphasize novel mathematical algorithms, rigor in computational formulations, innovative analytical models, and reproducible workflows for solving complex biological and medical problems. Particular emphasis will be placed on rigorous methodology, benchmark evaluation, model interpretability, reproducibility, and real-world biomedical applications. Contributions that bridge mathematical theory with practical applications in precision medicine, pharmaceutical research, public health, and artificial intelligence for healthcare are especially encouraged.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
