Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The marine world has been of interest to the cosmetics industry for about 40 years. This interest is primarily due to its abundant resources, including halophytes and marine invertebrates.
This species diversity yields a large number of interesting molecules with original structures. These molecules of interest can serve as active ingredients, excipients, and in some cases, additives.
Marine resources offer innovation opportunities for formulators to meet current demands for alternatives to controversial ingredients.
This Special Issue, "Marine Cosmetics and Cosmeceutical Applications", aims to showcase research on the use of compounds derived from marine plants or animals in cosmetic products, targeting beneficial biological effects on human skin, such as moisturization, photoprotection, and anti-aging. This overview of current knowledge in the field is provided through original articles, reviews, and short communications.
