Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that I present the Special Issue of Marine Drugs entitled “Marine Natural Products with Anticoagulant Activity”. Anticoagulants have been used for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases which are related to stroke, angina pectoris, and myocardial infarction. Recently, non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) such as rivaroxaban and apixaban are being commonly prescribed due to their relative safety compared to warfarin. However, the use of NOACs also results in unintentional adverse events. Therefore, patients still require a better anticoagulant that is not only more potent but also much safer. Natural products could be a promising resource for achieving the appropriate clinical outcomes.
This Special Issue will include novel and sound works from bench to beside, including in vitro and/or in vivo experiments which investigate the anticoagulant activity of natural products originated from marine sources. Reviews, research papers, and short communications will be considered for publication.
We look forward to receiving your valuable contribution to this Special Issue.
Kind regards,
Prof. Dr. Wonku KangGuest Editor
