Companionship Established Between Drylands and Land
We are pleased to announce that Drylands has established a companionship with its sister journal, Land (ISSN: 2073-445X). As sister journals, we will collaborate closely—sharing editorial expertise, co-organizing special issues, and offering authors a broader range of publication opportunities within our trusted journal family.
Drylands is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal on integrated, holistic science of the world’s arid, semi-arid, and dry sub-humid regions, published quarterly online by MDPI. We publish high-quality research articles, reviews, and short communications that bridge disciplines to understand the structure, function, and future of these critical socio-ecological systems. The journal welcomes detailed empirical, theoretical, methodological, and synthesis contributions, and there is no restriction on the maximum length of the papers. For details on the background and scope of this journal, please click on the following link: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/drylands/about.
We offer a full waiver on article processing charges for papers submitted before 1 January 2027. Manuscripts are peer-reviewed and a first decision is provided to authors approximately 17.5 days after submission; acceptance to publication is undertaken in 2.5 days (median values for MDPI journals in the second half of 2025). If accepted after peer review, your paper will be published in an open access format.
Manuscripts can be submitted via the journal’s online submission system at the following link: https://susy.mdpi.com/user/manuscripts/upload?journal=drylands.
We cordially invite you to consider Drylands as the platform for publishing your work.
