Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue is concerned with the broad topic of risks related to entrepreneurship, innovation and new ventures from various perspectives including theoretical, empirical and qualitative approaches.

The emergence of new iconic companies in recent decades (e.g., Apple, Facebook, Google, Uber) demonstrates the significant role of entrepreneurial firms on innovation, economic growth and employment worldwide.  New entrepreneurial firms face unique challenges due to high levels of failure risk, valuation uncertainty at exit, and difference in information and objectives between venture capitalists providing funding and entrepreneurs seeking financing.  Entrepreneurs and innovators in organizations also face additional internal and external risks related to strategy, appropriation, intellectual property, regulation, alliances, cross-border competition, etc.

We invite submissions of original research related to the above topics in entrepreneurship, innovation and ventures from various disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives.  We also welcome review articles, policy-oriented research, opinion pieces, case studies and replication studies of key works.

Guest Editor
