Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Endovascular aortic repair, being less invasive than traditional open repair and after significant progress in the used stent-grafts and endovascular techniques in the last two decades, has evolved to become the therapy of first choice for most patients. Aneurysm patients are mostly elderly with significant comorbidities, and thus, open aortic repair is now offered as a first-line therapy only in younger patients, in patients with connective tissue disease or in cases of mycotic aneurysms or stent-graft infections. With the use of modern technology with branched and fenestrated stent-grafts, endovascular aortic repair is now offered for aortic pathologies from the ascending aorta to the aortic bifurcation. This Special Issue of the Journal of Clinical Medicine will cover modern endovascular techniques in the therapy of aortic pathologies.
