Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The field of pediatric hepatobiliary surgery has significantly transformed over the past decades. Innovations in diagnostic modalities have improved the early detection and characterization of congenital and acquired hepatobiliary disorders in children. Moreover, minimally invasive approaches have emerged in the field of pediatric hepatobiliary surgery for the management of several disease entities, including but not limited to biliary atresia, choledochal cysts, and liver tumors. Additionally, refinements in perioperative care, anesthesia, and transplantation protocols have considerably improved the survival outcomes and quality of life for children with liver diseases. In this Special Issue, we invite submissions highlighting cutting-edge developments in pediatric hepatobiliary surgery, spanning innovations in diagnostics, surgical management, pre- and postoperative care, and long-term outcomes.
