Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite submissions to the Special Issue “Accessible Telehealth for Diverse Populations.”

Telehealth, the delivery of healthcare and social care information and services remotely using digital technology, has become an essential component of healthcare and social care systems worldwide, playing a crucial role in improving access to care. It is a powerful tool for promoting equitable healthcare, enhancing patient engagement, and enabling timely delivery of cost-effective services across diverse and underserved populations. Despite its potential, disparities in access, quality, and outcomes persist.

This Special Issue seeks high-quality research that advances our understanding of equitable telehealth planning, implementation, uptake, and impact, with a focus on underserved, marginalized, and culturally diverse groups. We welcome original research, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods studies, as well as review articles such as systematic, scoping, and integrative reviews. Contributions may explore access disparities, innovative models, community-engaged designs, intervention development and evaluation, digital inclusion strategies, and policies to reduce inequities. Interdisciplinary perspectives and insights are encouraged, and studies addressing outcomes; patient, carer, and provider experiences; cost-effectiveness; ethical considerations; and environmental impacts are also welcome.

We look forward to receiving your contributions that advance accessible, inclusive, and equitable telehealth solutions across healthcare and social care.
