Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Critical patient care is characterized by high clinical complexity, the need for continuous monitoring, and rapid decision-making in the face of potentially life-threatening conditions. In this scenario, advances in health technologies and the development of innovative interventions have expanded possibilities to improve care, optimize work processes, strengthen patient safety, and improve clinical outcomes.
This Special Issue aims to gather scientific evidence on the role of emerging technologies and innovative interventions in clinical practice, teaching, and research in critical care. Studies addressing the development, validation, implementation, and evaluation of technologies such as integrative and complementary health practices, artificial intelligence, digital health, mobile health (mHealth), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), extended reality (XR), and other technological solutions applied to the care of critically ill patients are welcome. Research on pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions aimed at managing signs and symptoms, patient safety, supporting clinical decision-making, rehabilitation, humanizing care, and healthcare professional training is also encouraged.
Original research articles, methodological studies, observational studies, clinical trials, implementation research, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, scoping reviews, umbrella reviews, conceptual analyses, and reflection articles will be considered.
