Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Throughout the human lifespan, movement is characterized by a complex and progressive process, owing to the challenges imposed by the environment and the need to solve different mobility issues. Thus, it is important to make better decisions related to daily activities as well as sports. Our understanding of the relationship between motor control and gait strategies has been augmented by the numerous applications of movement analysis. Gait analysis primarily focuses on the movements made while walking in various situations, whereas motor control pertains to the mastery of voluntary movements. Scientific advances that have been made in diverse domains have generally contributed to the improvement and optimization of movement in sports and health. However, even the highest efficiency in movement, motor control, postural stability and gait does not ensure optimal sports performance and quality of life. Therefore, providing different population groups with the right tools informed by scientific research to support their movement development should be a priority in sports and health.

In this Special Issue of International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, entitled “Motor Control and Gait Analysis in Sport Health”, we aim to present a collection of scientific studies focusing on different applications of motor control and gait analysis. We welcome different types of manuscript submissions, including original research articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Potential topics may include, but are not limited to, the effects of different types of intervention on motor control, postural stability and gait performance assessed by standard and cutting-edge diagnostic tools on public health.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2500 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
