Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This second edition of the Special Issue “Nursing Competencies: New Advances in Nursing Care” aims to further explore the evolving landscape of nursing competencies in response to the dynamic challenges of contemporary healthcare systems. Building on the success of the first edition, this Special Issue will focus on innovative models, evidence-based approaches, and the integration of advanced skills that empower nurses to deliver high-quality, person-centered care.

The Special Issue welcomes original research, reviews, and theoretical contributions addressing core and emerging nursing competencies, with particular attention to the following:

  • Advanced clinical decision making and critical thinking in complex care settings.
  • Leadership and management competencies to drive organizational innovation and quality improvement.
  •  Interprofessional collaboration and communication skills for integrated care delivery.
  • Cultural, ethical, and spiritual dimensions of nursing competencies in diverse populations.
  • The role of research literacy and evidence-based practice in strengthening nursing competencies.

This Special Issue seeks contributions from a broad spectrum of healthcare contexts, from hospitals to community care, and from academic institutions to policy-making bodies, in order to provide a comprehensive overview of how nursing competencies are being redefined globally.

By gathering high-quality studies and perspectives, the second edition aims to shape the discourse on nursing competencies and inspire innovative practices that improve patient outcomes, support workforce resilience, and enhance the overall quality of care.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
