Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Energy crisis and carbon emission have recently become two issues of serious concern in green cities. As a feasible solution, Energy Internet has aroused global concern since it has been proposed. Energy Internet is a new power generation, developing a green vision of the evolution of smart grids into the internet. The communication infrastructure is an essential component for implementing the Energy Internet. A scalable and robust communication infrastructure is crucial in both operating and maintaining smart energy systems. This is vital to realizing green cities. However, the implementation and development of Energy Internet into green cities should take several challenges into account. For instance, in order to promote a green-energy-based city and realize the optimization of energy utilization, an advanced hybrid system should be designed for integrating highly scalable and distributed alternative energy generation sources with other available power grid systems in green cities.
To date, an increasing number of research efforts have been done and some articles have been published on the integration and interaction between Energy Internet and green cities. We would like to again invite researchers who are working on related research issues to contribute high-quality papers to further advance people’s understanding of the relationship between Energy Internet and green cities. We welcome both original, practical work and review articles.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Future Internet is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
